How come the faith of many suffer shipwreck? Many Christians start right, but during their walk, something happens that causes them to change and depart from the living God and become apostate and enter the broad way of the world.
Jesus preached the truth of God and His words were spirit and life
Huwa l-ispirtu li jħaffef; Il-laħam ma jħabbat profitt xejn: il-kliem li nitkellem miegħek, Huma spirtu, u huma l-ħajja (John 6:63)
Ġesù weġibhom, u qal, Id-duttrina tiegħi mhix Tiegħi, imma Tiegħu li bagħatni. Jekk xi bniedem jagħmel ir-rieda Tiegħu, għandu jkun jaf bid-duttrina, jekk hux ta’ Alla, jew jekk nitkellem minni nnifsi. Min jitkellem minnu nnifsu jfittex il-glorja tiegħu stess: imma min ifittex il-glorja Tiegħu li bagħtu, l-istess huwa minnu, u l-ebda inġustizzja ma hemm fih (John 7:16-18)
Imbagħad qalulu lilu, Who art Thou? And Jesus saith unto them, Even the same that I said unto you from the beginning. Għandi ħafna affarijiet x'ngħid u biex niġġudikak: but he that sent Me is true; u jien nitkellem lid-dinja dak li smajt minnu. They understood not that He spake to them of the Father. Imbagħad Ġesù qalilhom, Meta tkun għolla lil Bin il-bniedem, then shall ye know that I am He, u li jien ma nagħmel xejn minni nnifsi; imma kif għallimni Missieri, Jien nitkellem dawn l-affarijiet. U Dak li bagħatni hu miegħi: il-Missier ma ħalliniex waħdi; għax jien dejjem nagħmel dawk l-affarijiet li jogħġbuH (John 8:25-29)
Għax jien ma tkellimtx minni nnifsi; imma l-Missier li bagħatni, Hu tani kmandament, dak li għandi ngħid, u x’għandi nitkellem. U naf li l-kmandament Tiegħu huwa l-ħajja ta’ dejjem: kulma nitkellem għalhekk, bħalma qalli l-Missier, hekk nitkellem (John 12:49-50)
Ma temminx li jien fil-Missier, u l-Missier fija? il-kliem li ngħidilkom ma nitkellimx minni nnifsi: imma l-Missier li jgħammar fija, Huwa jagħmel ix-xogħlijiet (John 14:10)
Ġesù ma qalx kliemu stess, but Jesus spoke the words of His Father, which were spirit and life. The words that Jesus spoke were confrontational and called the people to repentance and the removal of sin and to do the will of the Father.
Jesus had a personal relationship with His Father and spend much quiet time with Him. Everything Jesus said and did, Jesus said and did from the union with God the Father and God the Holy Spirit.
Jesus didn’t adjust His words to the feelings, emozzjonijiet, and the will of the people.
Jesus wasn’t influenced and intimidated by people, sitwazzjonijiet, and the natural elements of the world.
But Jesus kept walking after the Spirit in obedience to His Father in His will and kept preaching His Kingdom, il-verità, u l-ħajja, despite all the angriness, mibegħda, reżistenza, persekuzzjoni, and rejection of people.
Jesus had taught His disciples in word and deed. Jesus had taught them the truth and revealed the will of God and His Kingdom.
Iva, Jesus had taught His disciples the truth in such a way, that when Jesus ascended to heaven and the Holy Spirit descended from heaven and His disciples were filled with the Holy Spirit and became the new creation, they were spiritually mature to continue the work of Jesus on earth.
The disciples preached the gospel of Jesus Christ and called the people to repentance
Għadni ħafna affarijiet x’ngħidilkom, imma ma tistgħux iġorruhom issa. Howbeit meta hu, L-Ispirtu tal-Verità, huwa ġej, Huwa ser jiggwidak fil-verità kollha: għax hu m'għandux jitkellem dwaru; Imma hu jkun hu li jisma ', li għandu jitkellem: U hu se jurik l-affarijiet li ġejjin. Huwa għandu jigglorifikani: għax hu għandu jirċievi tiegħi, u għandha turiha lilek. L-affarijiet kollha li l-Missier għandu tiegħi: Għalhekk qal jien, that He shall take of Mine, u għandha turiha lilek (John 16:12-15)
And so His disciples went in obedience to the Word in the power of the Holy Spirit and listened to Him, who guided them into all truth, and preached the gospel of Jesus Christ and called the people to repentance and the removal of sin.
Eżatt bħal Ġesù, the disciples didn’t adjust the words of God to the feelings, emozzjonijiet, and the will of people, but they kept preaching the truth of God and making disciples of Jesus Christ. And because of that many sons of God (kemm irġiel kif ukoll nisa) were born and raised, who were not intimidated and didn’t compromise, but were able to resist the lies and temptations of the devil and endure difficult situations, intoppi, and the hatred, reżistenza, and persecution of people in their lives.
They were able to endure the storms in life and their faith didn’t suffer shipwreck, because their faith was founded on the Word.
They had put all their trust in Jesus Christ and were crafted in Christ and grew up in Him and were obedient to His words and lived from His words.
They were not spared by God for the lies, tentazzjonijiet, difficult situations, intoppi, mibegħda, reżistenza, u persekuzzjoni tan-nies. Nru, God allowed everything and let them go through it, because God knew that His sons (kemm irġiel kif ukoll nisa) would be spiritually strong enough and able to go through it (Aqra wkoll: ‘The hearers vs the doers’ U)
And that was indeed the case, and that should still be the case. Madankollu, il-prattika turi xi ħaġa oħra.
Kif ġejja? Because many believers reject the words and the truth of God and consider and accept the lies of the world as the truth. Therefore instead of growing up in the truth, they grow up in the lie.
They have not put their trust in Jesus Christ and don’t live in Him; in the Word, but they have put their trust in the world and rely on the words and ability of people.
Many people have the spirit of the world instead of the Holy Spirit and don’t war a good warfare, holding faith and a good conscience, but they have put it away. Minħabba f'hekk, the faith of many suffer shipwreck
Għaliex il-fidi ta ’ħafna tbati nawfraġju?
Din l-akkuża jiena nagħmel lilek, iben Timotju, skond il-profeziji li marru qabel fuqek, li bihom tista’ tigwera gwerra tajba; Żomm il-fidi, u kuxjenza tajba; li xi wħud wara li warrbu dwar il-fidi għamlu nawfraġju: Li minnhom huwa Hymenaeus u Alexander; li jien tajt lil Satana, biex jitgħallmu ma jidgħajmux (1 Timotju 1:18-20)
Paul wrote to Timothy about some, whose faith had made shipwreck. Two of them were Hymenaeus and Alexander, whom Paul had delivered unto satan, so that they might learn not to blaspheme.
This was the second time, that Paul wrote about someone, whom he had delivered unto satan.
L-ewwel darba, was in the church at Corinth where Paul had delivered a man unto satan from a distance, because this man had a sexual relationship with his father’s wife.
The church didn’t do anything and left the man alone and allowed fornication and ensured by this behavior that the church became defiled.
Imma Pawlu, who was spiritually mature and stood in the service of God instead of the service of man, didn’t leave the man alone but intervened immediately and addressed this great sin of fornication, after the Holy Spirit had revealed this sin to him (Aqra wkoll: ‘Xi jfisser li tagħti persuna lil satana?’).
Paul did the same thing with Hymenaeus and Alexander. Notice, that Paul wrote openly about the behavior and works of people and judged it, and even called two people by their names.
Paul didn’t leave Hymenaeus and Alexander alone and didn’t allow their profane and vain babblings, who led the people astray, but Paul confronted them with their words and deeds and put them out of the office and the church and informed Timothy. Not to gossip, but to warn Timothy and to reveal the cunning method of the devil, who worked through these people and increased the ungodliness and overthrew the faith of some.
The words of Hymenaeus and Philetus were profane and vain babblings, which increased unto more ungodliness
U l-kelma tagħhom tiekol bħal kankru: of whom is Hymenaeus and Philetus; Who concerning the truth have erred, saying that the resurrection is past already; and overthrow the faith of some. Nevertheless the foundation of God standeth sure, li għandu dan is-siġill, The Lord knoweth them that are his. U, Let every one that nameth the name of Christ depart from iniquity (2 Timotju 2:15-19)
Paulus wrote about Hymenaeus and Philetus that their words were profane and vain babblings that increased the ungodliness. Their words ate as doth a canker and defiled the body (il-knisja) with evil and caused the body to die and to become dead to God.
They did err concerning the truth by saying that the resurrection was already past, and caused to overthrow the faith of some.
Alexander the coppersmith had greatly withstood the words of Paul and others
Alexander the coppersmith did me much evil: the Lord reward him according to his works: Of whom be thou ware also; for he hath greatly withstood our words (2 Timotju 4:14)
Paul wrote about Alexander the Coppersmith that he did Paul much evil and that the Lord would reward him according to his works. Paul warned Timothy and commanded Timothy to be observant and to be aware, because Alexander had greatly withstood their words. U dan għadu jiġri.
Hemm ħafna nies, who are carnal and speak from the imagination and vanity of their carnal mind and withstand the words of God and preach villany, whereby wickedness (ungodliness) increases and the faith of many suffer shipwreck.
Preaching villany (bluha, immorality)
For the vile person will speak villany, and his heart will work iniquity, to practise hypocrisy, and to utter error against the Lord, to make empty the soul of the hungry, and he will cause the drink of the thirsty to fail (Isaija 32:6)
Very slowly the Word has been replaced by the words of carnal man, who don’t speak the words of God but the words of the world.
Most preachers are not spiritual preachers anymore, who belong to God and walk after the Spirit in obedience and submission to Jesus Christ; the Living Word and speak the truth of the Word and live holy lives and bear the fruit of the Spirit, but most preachers belong to the world and are unspiritual motivational speakers, who are charismatic and eloquent and have the spirit of this world and speak from their own experience and speak their own words from their own imagination and vanity of their carnal mind and search their own glory and bear the fruit of the flesh (Aqra wkoll: ‘The armor of darkness’ en ‘L-anzjan’.
They are led by seducing spirits and speak words, which may seem godly, because they are mixed with scriptures from the Bible, but these scriptures have been taken out of context and their words speak against the will of God and His righteousness and holiness and don’t call to repentance and the removal of sin and living a holy life, but increase ungodliness and ensure that the old man stays alive and perseveres in sin and the people keep walking after the flesh in disobedience to God and live like the world.
And so the truth of God is no longer preached and the will of God is not made known, imma minflok, the lies of apostate people are preached that represent the will of man and please the flesh and ensure that the people keep doing the works of the flesh, so that they can also keep doing the works of the flesh (Aqra wkoll: ‘Duttrini tax-xjaten qed joqtlu l-knisja’).
If the faith is not built upon the Word; il-Verità ta’ Alla, but on the words and experiences of man, who speak lies in hypocrisy that increase ungodliness and sear the conscience, the faith shall not stand, but the faith shall suffer shipwreck. The faith shall not be able to withstand the lies, tentazzjonijiet, and storms in life, but the storms shall overpower the faith and destroy the faith.
Depart from the living God
Oqgħod attent, ħuti, biex ma jkunx hemm f’xi ħadd minnkom qalb ħażina ta’ nuqqas ta’ twemmin, fit-tluq minn Alla ħaj. Imma jħeġġu lil xulxin kuljum, filwaqt li tissejjaħ To day; biex ħadd minnkom ma jibbies bil-qerq tad-dnub. Għax aħna magħmula parteċipanti fi Kristu, jekk inżommu l-bidu tal-fiduċja tagħna sod sal-aħħar (Ebrajk 3:12-14)
Għalhekk, it’s not surprising that by preaching lies in hypocrisy, many people become apostates and the faith of many suffer shipwreck.
There is no correction and chastisement and people are not called to repentance and the removal of sin and to live holy lives. Nru, instead of a holy life, sin is served and promoted (Aqra wkoll: ‘Ġesù huwa Promotur tad-dnub?’).
But God is horrified by all of this, and has turned away from many churches and taken the lamp and extinguished their light. Since God can’t have communion with sin, because it is rebellion towards God the Father, disobedience to God the son; il-kelma ħajja, u Alla l-Ispirtu s-Santu.
