To sin or not to sin is the decision you make in life. Every person is responsible for his or her own life and decides to believe God and His Word (η Βίβλος) and walk in the will of God or not. Just like the Father, Jesus gave a command to sin no more but it was up to the people to give heed to his command or not. Let’s look at the story of the healing of the lame man at the pool of Bethesda and the woman who committed adultery and was caught in the act.
The healing of the lame man at the pool of Bethesda
Στον Γιάννη 5:1-15, Ο Ιησούς θεράπευσε έναν άνθρωπο, που είχε μια αναπηρία για 38 έτη. Αυτός ο κουτσός άντρας ξάπλωσε σε ένα κρεβάτι στην πισίνα της Bethesda.
When Jesus saw the lame man, He went to him and asked him if he wanted to get well. Ο κουτσός απάντησε στον Ιησού, that he didn’t have anyone to bring him to the water to get healed.
Τότε ο Ιησούς πρόσταξε τον άνδρα να σηκωθεί και να πάρει το κρεβάτι του και να περπατήσει. The man obeyed the words of Jesus and stood up and walked. Ο κουτσός θεραπεύτηκε από τον Ιησού! But what did Jesus say to him about the decision to sin or not to sin?
Why did Jesus say to Sin no more?
When Jesus met the man who was healed of his infirmity in the Temple in Jerusalem, Ο Ιησούς πρόσταξε τον άνθρωπο να μην αμαρτάνει πια. Why did Jesus say to sin no more? Lest a worse thing would come unto him.
Ο Ιησούς θεράπευσε τον άνθρωπο από την ασθένειά του (την αναπηρία του). Ο άνθρωπος έγινε καλά και η Βασιλεία του Θεού είχε έρθει σε αυτόν.
Το βασίλειο του σκότους είχε αιχμαλωτίσει τον άνθρωπο 38 έτη. But when Jesus came and the power of the Kingdom of heaven came upon him, ο άντρας απελευθερώθηκε από τα δεσμά του.
Μετά τον βρήκε ο Ιησούς στο ναό, και του είπε, Βλέπω, έγινες ολόκληρος: αμαρτία όχι πια, μήπως σου έρθει κάτι χειρότερο

Ο Ιησούς απελευθέρωσε τον άνθρωπο από την πνευματική φυλακή του σκότους
Jesus released this lame man from this spiritual prison of darkness. Now that this man was released from this spiritual prison of darkness, Jesus commanded the healed man to no violate the spiritual laws by sinning.
Με άλλα λόγια; Jesus told the man to keep the commandments and do the θέλημα Θεού and stay obedient to God instead of obeying and doing the will of the devil (που εργάζεται στη σάρκα) με την αμαρτία.
Because if the man decided to reject the commandment of Jesus and disobey God and sin, he would be taken captive again by the forces of darkness and worse things would happen to him.
Ο Ιησούς προειδοποίησε τον άνδρα, because the man was carnal. He didn’t see the spiritual realm and couldn’t discern the spirits. But Jesus was spiritual and knew the spirit realm and the spiritual laws and revealed it to him through His word.
Jesus knew the Kingdom of Heaven and the kingdom of darkness. He wanted this man to stay free and not become a prisoner of the devil and darkness again.
Επομένως, Ο Ιησούς πρόσταξε τον άνθρωπο να μην αμαρτάνει πια.
είπε ο Ιησούς, Go and sin no more to the woman that committed adultery
Στον Γιάννη 8:1-11, we read about a woman that was caught in the act of adultery. The woman that committed adultery was brought unto Jesus. Οι Γραμματείς και οι Φαρισαίοι κατηγόρησαν τη γυναίκα για μοιχεία και είπαν στον Ιησού τι είχε κάνει.
They suggested to stone her according to the Νόμος του Μωυσή. But the words of these men didn’t come from a good conscience. They only wanted to tempt Jesus, so that they could accuse Him.
Ο Ιησούς έγραψε στο έδαφος με το δάχτυλό Του και τους είπε, “He who’s sinless among you, ας είναι ο πρώτος που θα της ρίξει την πέτρα“.
Jesus knew that the people that belonged to the old generation of fallen man were carnal. They were trapped in the sinful nature of the flesh.
Instead of stoning the adultrous woman, the men left one by one until there was no one left except Jesus and the adultrous woman.
Εκείνη τη στιγμή, Jesus had the power to condemn the woman and stone her. Because Jesus walked in the authority of the Kingdom of God (ως νέα δημιουργία) and was sinless.
Ωστόσο, Jesus said to the woman that He wouldn’t condemn her either. Since it was not Jesus’ time to judge but to save.
ΑΛΛΑ… Ιησούς δεν ενέκρινε of her work of adultery. Jesus commanded the woman to go her way and αμαρτία όχι πια.

Η νέα δημιουργία χωρίζεται από τον κόσμο
When you repent and become born again in Christ and enter the Kingdom of God, you leave the kingdom of darkness and are separated from the world. You have been forgiven, λυτρώθηκε, and made whole and righteous by the blood of Jesus Christ.
You’ve become new creation and as a result of this spiritual transformation, θα παράτα τον γέρο σου με τις παλιές του συνήθειες.
Δεν θα περπατάς πια με τον τρόπο που περπατούσες πριν τη μετάνοιά σου, because you repented from that lifestyle and its works (της σάρκας).
Είναι απαραίτητο να το συνειδητοποιήσουμε δεν είσαι πια αμαρτωλός. You have become a saint through regeneration in Christ.
If you don’t realize and believe this, you will always think and live as a sinner. You’ll be stuck in your sins and never be freed from your sins.
Όταν ξαναγεννήθηκες, περάσατε από το ένα πνευματικό βασίλειο σε ένα άλλο (Κολοσσαείς 1:13-14)
In your old life, you thought like the world and walked in sin (sin = disobedience to God. It’s everything that goes against the Word of God that represents the will of God) and you were of the devil.
The nature of the devil will do his will
You had the character and nature of your father the devil. In your fallen state, δεν μπόρεσες να υποταχθείς στον Θεό και να κάνεις το θέλημά Του. αντι αυτου, you lived after the will of the flesh in rebellion.
You were rebellious towards God and His Word and obedient to the words and will of the devil (η θέληση, λαγνεία, and desire of your flesh), και έζησε στην αμαρτία. Η Βίβλος λέει, ότι αν αμαρτάνεις, you have the devil as father and do the lust thereof (Γιάννης 8:44).
When you decided να μετανοήσει, έμμεσα είπες ότι δεν ήθελες πια να έχεις τον διάβολο πατέρα σου. Δεν ήθελες να υπακούσεις στα λόγια του και να περπατήσεις σύμφωνα με το θέλημά του. Είχατε βαρεθεί τη ζωή σας υπό την εξουσία του.
Όταν ακούσατε τα λόγια του ευαγγελίου και συναντήσατε τον Ιησού Χριστό, πίστεψες σε Αυτόν και Τον αποδέχτηκες ως Σωτήρα και Κύριό σου.
Θέλατε τον Θεό για Πατέρα σας αντί για τον διάβολο και υπακούτε στα λόγια Του και περπατάτε σύμφωνα με το θέλημά Του. Δεν ήθελες να υπακούς στα λόγια του διαβόλου και να περπατάς σύμφωνα με το θέλημά του.
Η φύση του Θεού θα κάνει το θέλημά Του
From the moment you are born again and receive the nature of your Father God, you will long for Him and the things of His Kingdom. There must be a desire to do the will of God and to walk according to what God says.
A real father knows what is good for his child. A real father wants the best for his child. Αν ένας επίγειος πατέρας θέλει το καλύτερο για τα παιδιά του, πόσο μάλλον ο ουράνιος Πατέρας σου.
Γι' αυτό, God revealed His will to us in His Word (η Βίβλος).
God revealed to us not only what pleases Him and what displeases Him, but He also revealed the way of salvation, πώς να γίνει μια νέα δημιουργία and how to walk as the new creation in His will.
God revealed it all in the Bible which is His Word. Και τι, Ο δρόμος του γίνεται δικός σου και His thoughts becomes your thoughts.
Did the people choose to sin or not to sin?
είπε ο Ιησούς στον άνθρωπο, που θεραπεύτηκε από την αναπηρία του και η γυναίκα, που πιάστηκε στα πράσα της μοιχείας, να μην αμαρτάνεις άλλο. Επομένως, these people had the power to sin no more. They had the power to say ‘no to sin’. But did they obey the commandment of Jesus and choose to sin no more or not?
του είπε ο Ιησούς, Θα αγαπάς τον Κύριο τον Θεό σου με όλη σου την καρδιά, και με όλη σου την ψυχή, και με όλο σου το μυαλό. Αυτή είναι η πρώτη και μεγάλη εντολή. Και το δεύτερο μοιάζει με αυτό, Θα αγαπάς τον πλησίον σου όπως τον εαυτό σου. Από αυτές τις δύο εντολές κρέμεται όλος ο νόμος και οι προφήτες (Ματθαίος 22:37-40)
Η γυναίκα είχε τη δύναμη να πει «όχι».’ στη μοιχεία, γιατί αλλιώς, Ο Ιησούς δεν θα της είχε δώσει την εντολή να μην αμαρτάνει πια. Το ερώτημα είναι, απάντησε η γυναίκα στον Ιησού’ εντολή να μην αμαρτάνεις άλλο?
Did the adulterous woman obey the commandment of Jesus or did she let her feelings, τον πόθο της, and her desire rule over the words of Jesus and give in to her feelings of lust and desire?
Θυμάμαι, όταν ο Ιησούς πρόσταξε να μην αμαρτάνεις άλλο, His crucifixion and the έκχυση του Αγίου Πνεύματος had not taken place yet.
So these people were not born again. Ήταν ακόμα το παλιό δημιούργημα. However the old creation had the power to say ‘no’ να αμαρτάνεις και να μην αμαρτάνεις πια.
Κι εσύ δεν έχεις τη δύναμη να αμαρτάνεις πια. Αποφασίζεις να αμαρτήσεις ή να μην αμαρτήσεις.
μέσω του λυτρωτικό έργο του Ιησού Χριστού, έγινες άγιος και δίκαιος. Τώρα που έγινες άγιος και δίκαιος, έχετε επίσης κληθεί να ζήσετε με αγιότητα και δικαιοσύνη (2 Κορινθίους 5:21).
Σωζόμενος από τη χάρη και κάνοντας τα έργα του Πνεύματος
Δεν σώζεσαι από έργα, but by grace. Αλλά το να είσαι κάτω από τη χάρη δεν σημαίνει ότι σου επιτρέπεται να συνεχίσεις να αμαρτάνεις. Γιατί αν η σάρκα σου πέθανε εν Χριστώ όταν αναγεννήθηκες, πώς μπορείς να κάνεις τα έργα της σάρκας?
Θα αγαπήσεις τον Κύριο τον Θεό σου με όλη σου την καρδιά, και με όλη σου την ψυχή και με όλο σου το μυαλό και θα αγαπήσεις τον πλησίον σου όπως τον εαυτό σου (Ματθαίος 22:37-40)
When you are saved and born again, you see the nature and effect of sin, που είναι ο καρπός του θανάτου. You will hate sin, ακριβώς όπως ο Θεός. Όταν εσείς αγαπήστε τον Θεό με όλη σου την καρδιά, ψυχή, μυαλό, και δύναμη θα αγαπήσεις να κάνεις το θέλημά Του.
You shall spend time with God and renew your mind with the Word of God (η Βίβλος) and apply His words into your life, ώστε να γίνεις εκτελεστής των λόγων του Θεού και να κάνεις τα έργα του Πνεύματος. Δεν χρειάζεται, αλλά θέλεις, επειδή έχετε πλαστεί καθ' ομοίωσή Του και αγαπάτε τον Θεό.
Όταν ο Λόγος και το Άγιο Πνεύμα κατοικούν μέσα σας, θα περπατάς μετά από το Πνεύμα με υπακοή στον Λόγο. Θα περπατάς ερωτευμένος, αγιότητα, και δικαιοσύνη, κάνοντας το θέλημα του Πατέρα και εξυψώνοντας και δοξάζοντάς Τον.
«Γίνε το αλάτι της γης”
