Kusho ukuthini izaga 5:1-2, Umfana wami, lalela ukuhlakanipha kwami, ubeke indlebe yakho ekuqondeni kwami: that thou may regard discretion and that thy lips may keep knowledge?
Okushiwo Izaga 5:1-2
KuZaga 5, the father warns the son for the strange woman and the act of adultery. In the first two Bible verses of Proverbs 5, the father instructs his son to attend to his wisdom and bow his ear to his understanding. Ukuze, his son may regard discretion and his lips keep knowledge.
As the earthly father tells his son to attend to his wisdom and to bow his ear to his understanding, so is the heavenly Father telling you to attend to His wisdom and to bow your ear to His understanding.
Lean not on your own wisdom and understanding, but on His wisdom and understanding.
The Father’s wisdom is not the wisdom of the carnal man. It’s not the wisdom of this world that derives from a carnal mind. But it’s the wisdom of God.
This wisdom is revealed through His Word and Spirit.
This wisdom can only be understood with a spiritual mind of the indalo entsha.
The new creation knows the will of the Lord through the renewing of the mind with the Bible, which is the Word of God and the indwelling of the Holy Spirit.
Bheka ukuhlakanipha nezindebe zakho zigcina ukwazi
When you attend unto the Father’s wisdom and listen to His understanding, you shall regard discretion and your lips shall keep (observe) ulwazi. You shall be discrete and live righteous and holy.
Uzokwenza walk worthy of the Lord in the knowledge of His will. And as your lips keep knowledge, you shall speak the words of God and true instruction.
If you obey the instruction of the Father, you shall keep yourselves from evil.
