They decide which path to go: the broad way of the world that leads to destruction or the narrow way of life that leads to eternal life. Kodwa yini eyenza abantu baphenduke? The revelation and conviction of sin brought people to repentance. How else can a person repent if a person doesn’t see his sinful state and consider his works evil? Let’s look at the conviction of sin in the three dispensations of the Bible and how sin was revealed in each dispensation.

Sifunda ngobudlelwane phakathi kukaNkulunkulu no Abel, u-Enoke, UNowa, u-Abrahama, Usaka, Ungani, UJoseph, njll.
Bonke bahamba noNkulunkulu ngemva kwentando Yakhe, kuyilapho uNkulunkulu engakabaniki umthetho waKhe. Kodwa balalela amazwi akhe futhi bakholwa amazwi akhe futhi bangena ukuzwa emazwini Akhe.
Nokho, sifunda nangoKhayini, Esawu, amadodana kaNkulunkulu, the people that lived in the time of Noah’, abakhileyo iSodoma neGomora, njll. Bonke baphila impilo yabo ngemva kwentando, izinkanuko, nezinkanuko zenyama yabo ngokungalaleli amazwi kaNkulunkulu.
UZimu wanikela ngomthetho wakhe
We read about God’s people that lived in Egypt under the oppression of Pharaoh for 400 years and how God saved them. God heard their cry and chose Moses as His representative to redeem His people out of Egypt and from the oppression of Pharaoh.
Ngenkathi uNkulunkulu ehlenga abantu baKhe ngesandla saKhe futhi wabaholela ehlane, UNkulunkulu wazembula ngazo zonke izibonakaliso nezimangaliso.
God wanted a relationship with His people. Wayefuna ukuba uNkulunkulu wabo futhi babe abantu baKhe. And so God gave them the Law that revealed His will concerning their lives.

The only way to do that was to renew their mind with God’s will because the mind determined their actions. Ngokusebenzisa Umthetho wokulunga nokuphila, God made His will known to His people and sin was revealed.

The holy law of God brought light in the darkness and gave life to those that would submit to the Law (intando kaNkulunkulu) futhi ulalele uMthetho.
The law revealed the truth and exposed every sin that leads to death. Ngoba uNkulunkulu wayengafuni ukuthi kubhubhe namunye wabantu baKhe. By keeping the law and all the precepts and ordinances that belonged to the law, Abantu bakhe babeyobusiswa, -londoloziweyo, futhi ube nokuphila. But every person that belonged to His people had a choice to obey the law of God or not.
People decided to obey the Law or disobey the Law

Ukulahlwa kwesono ngomthetho
Lapho umthetho kaNkulunkulu ufundwa phambi kwabantu, ubungcwele bukaNkulunkulu babonakala futhi isono sembulwa kubo. The law was their teacher and showed them how far they were driven away from God and His words. Khona-ke abantu baKhe babenokuzikhethela phenduka noma cha.
Ngaphandle komthetho kaNkulunkulu, elimele umthetho wokulunga nokuphila, babengalazi iqiniso lokuthi ukuphila kwabo kwakugcwele isono. Abantu bakhe babenqabe umthetho, Amagama KaNkulunkulu, futhi baphila njengazo zonke ezinye izizwe, ngokwezinkanuko lezinkanuko zenyama.
They went their own way and did their own will and were led by their flesh instead of the Word of God.
They took strange women from pagan nations, baphinga, nokukhonza izithombe, kwakukhona ukungcola ngokobulili futhi bavumela izinengiso endlini yeNkosi.
But as soon as the law of Moses appeared and was read, isono sembulwa futhi yamlahla umuntu ngesono. Without the law of Moses that came from God and represented His will, kwakungekho ukuqaphela isono.

Jesus was the reflection of God and represented and brought the Kingdom of God, kuhlanganise nomthetho kaNkulunkulu (the law of of righteousness and life), Emhlabeni.
Jesus lived according to the will of God and therefore He established and fulfilled the law. Isimo sikaNkulunkulu esingcwele sasihlala kuJesu futhi wabhekana nabantu bakaNkulunkulu ngezono zabo.
Ukuqiniseka ngesono ngeZwi
Jesus is the Light that shone in the darkness. He brought all the things that were hidden in darkness into the light. Ukukhanya kwabhekana nabantu ngezono zabo. The people of the house of Israel that heard His words and believed and were convicted in their hearts of their sins repented. But the people that were proud and rebellious in their hearts and had the devil as father were not willing to repent.

The confrontation with the living Word, Omele ukulunga nobungcwele bukaNkulunkulu, wembula isono kubantu. The living Word convicted the people of sin.
Ukugwetshwa ngesono enkathini kaMoya oNgcwele
Esikhathini sesithathu, sibona ukuzalwa kwezidalwa ezintsha kanye nobudlelwane noMoya oNgcwele. What the devil destroyed in the Insimu yase-Edene was restored by Jesus Christ and His blood. UJesu wamisa uMthetho futhi wabhekana nenkinga yesono somuntu.
Ngokufa nokuvuka Kwakhe kwabafileyo nangokufika kukaMoya oNgcwele, i okudaliwe okusha zazalwa.
Through repentance and regeneration in Christ, inyama yendoda endala yafa futhi umoya wavuswa kwabafileyo ngamandla kaMoya oNgcwele.
Umuntu omusha wazalwa ngu amanzi and Spirit and was no longer a son of the devil. But the new creation had become a son of God.
The new creation was reconciled in Jesus Christ with the Father and received His Holy Spirit.
The new creations didn’t belong to the world but to the Kingdom of God.
The Holy Spirit Who bears witness of Jesus Christ; iZwi, and represents the Kingdom of God, nomthetho wokulunga nokuphila, lives inside the new creation. Just like God prophesied:
Ngemuva kwalezo zinsuku, isho iNkosi, ngiyakufaka umthetho wami ezibilinini zabo, bese uyibhala ezinhliziyweni zabo; futhi ngibe nguNkulunkulu wabo, bayakuba ngabantu bami

The new creation submits to the Father, Izwi, and Spirit and does the will of God
God’s will and His nature live in the heart of the new creation through the abiding of the Holy Spirit.
The old evil nature of the devil that is present in the flesh doesn’t exist anymore. The flesh is crucified in Christ. Manje, Isimo sikaNkulunkulu esingcwele siphila ngaphakathi kwendalo entsha.
Lapho isidalwa esisha silandela uMoya, he shall submit himself to the Word and the Holy Spirit and the will of the Father and do the will of God. Ngakho-ke indalo entsha izoba Sungula umthetho (AmaRoma 3:31).
Ukugwetshwa ngesono ngoMoya oNgcwele
UJesu wafakaza ngoMoya oNgcwele futhi wathi uMoya oNgcwele uyasola (iziboshwa, imihuzuko, uyala, kuveza obala, ekhuza) izwe lesono, nokulunga, kanye lokwahlulela (UJohane 16:8-10)
UMoya oNgcwele umelela intando kaNkulunkulu futhi ulahla izono zomuntu. Just like Jesus convicted the sins of the people and called the people to repentance and to put away sin. Futhi njengoba nje uNkulunkulu elahla izono zomuntu, ngomthetho futhi wabiza abantu baKhe ukuba ukuphenduka lokususa isono.
UNkulunkulu, uJesu, loMoya oNgcwele baMunye. Ngakho-ke, They have the same nature and the same will. They never phikisa One One!
UMoya oNgcwele unguMoya weqiniso futhi udalula wonke amanga kasathane. Ngakho-ke konke okwenzeka ebumnyameni, Uyoletha ekukhanyeni.
He confronts people with their sinful state. He reveals to them their evil works from God’s point of view instead of man’s point of view.
Kungakho sidinga uMoya oNgcwele. He alone will convict the person of sin and shows him his defiled sinful nature.
Ngaphandle kokulahlwa yisono, umuntu akakwazi ukuphenduka futhi wadela ukuphila kwakhe futhi asuse izono zakhe. Lokhu kungenxa yokuthi umuntu akazazi izono zakhe.
Umuntu akasiboni isidingo sokubeka phansi inyama yakhe futhi azalwe kabusha ngomoya. He shall not consider the works of the flesh as evil. Therefore he shall never put off the carnal works of the flesh. The person will only do that if God reveals to him his spiritual state.
The goodness of God and conviction of sin bring man to repentance
UNkulunkulu akafuni muntu ukuba abhubhe. Yingakho ke, ngenxa yobuhle baKhe, Wanikeza umthetho waKhe, Indodana yakhe, noMoya waKhe oNgcwele. Ukuze izono zomhlaba, ezicashwe ebumnyameni futhi zifihlekile emehlweni emvelo yomuntu omdala, izodalulwa futhi umuntu abe nethuba lokuphenduka, asuse izono zakhe, usindiswe, futhi ube isidalwa esisha kuJesu Kristu.
‘Yibani usawoti womhlaba’
