Xi jfisser il-mixi fl-imħabba skont il-Bibbja?

Walking in love according to the Bible does not always correspond with man’s view. Do you walk in love, when you are kind to people and tolerate and approve all things, inklużi dnubiet u inkwitajiet? Many Christians think that when you walk in love, you shouldn’t be harsh and judgmental, but respectful and accept everyone, including their (midneb) stil ta’ ħajja. Because of this new-age mindset, many churches don’t represent Jesus Christ anymore. They don’t preach and represent the Kingdom of God and the will of God. Minflok, they have become a social entertainment business that is based upon worldly principles and carnal doctrines of man. F’ħafna knejjes, sin and iniquity abound and there is little or no more power of God at all. Let’s look at what Jesus says about walking in love. Għax, when do you walk in love according to the Bible?

What does the Bible say about walking in love?

Skond il-Bibbja, walking in love means keeping the commandments of Jesus Christ. When you walk in love, you will keep His commandments and do what the Word tells you to do.

Kif ħabbni l-Missier, hekk ħabbejtek: kompli intom fl-imħabba Tiegħi. Jekk iżżommu l-kmandamenti Tiegħi, inti tibqa 'fl-imħabba Tiegħi; bħalma jien żammejt il-kmandamenti ta’ Missieri, u żommu fl-imħabba tiegħu (John 15:9-10)

immaġni bajda tela bil-vers tal-Bibbja John 14-15 jekk tħobbni żomm il-kmandamenti tiegħi

As written in previous articles, the love for your neighbour begins with your love for Jesus Christ; il-Kelma.

You are seated in Him, in the Word. Therefore you should know the Word. The only way to get to know Him is by the Word (il-Bibbja) because Jesus is the Word.

When Jesus is your first love, and your love for Him is greater than the love for your ‘self’ u d-dinja, u dak kollu li hemm ġewwa, only then shall you be able to love your neighbour as yourself.

When you love out of the flesh (out of your emotions and feelings), then your love belongs to the ‘death works’. But when you love out of the Spirit, you shall first love God with all of your heart, moħħok, ruħ, u s-saħħa.

You shall not walk according to your understanding, sejbiet, Opinjonijiet, u sentimenti. But you shall walk according to what the Bible says and love your neighbour as yourself. You shall forgive others and have compassion for people.

Jesus walked in love

Jesus walked in love by doing the will of God and keeping His commandments. He wasn’t a wishy-washy, Who approved and accepted all things of man. Jesus didn’t always speak gentle words, but Jesus spoke hard words, and confronted the people.

Jesus did not compromise and didn’t accept behaviour that opposed the will of His Father. And Jesus certainly did not approve of sin, but He reproved man of their sins.

Ġesù kien jaf, that sin is rebellion against God and disobedience to the word of God. Sin doesn’t lead people into freedom and eternal life but bondage of the devil and eternal death.

Ħu pereżempju l-alkoħol. Despite the warnings in the Bible, many people drink alcohol and think they are free. Madankollu, their way of freedom led to bondage of the devil. Their drinking habit turned into an dipendenza fuq l-alkoħol that will destroy their lives.

Jesus brought salvation to the people that lived in the bondage of sin. Jesus came to set the captives free. He brought the Kingdom of God and taught the people the Word of God. Many people listened to His words and believed Him and repented of their sins.

They gave up their Ħajja bħala midneb and became obedient to Him. They obeyed His words and followed Him.

How do you walk in love?

As the Father sent Jesus and Jesus yielded to the Father and walked in love by keeping the commandments of His Father, so you are sent by Jesus and you should yield to Jesus and walk in love by keeping His commandments (2 John 1:6).

The saints need to admonish each other in love. So that every Christian keeps walking in love on the narrow path that leads to eternal life.

Ġesù ġab lill-midinbin għall-indiema

When you see a brother or sister living in sin, falling back into sin every now and then, becoming disobedient to the Bible, or going after another doctrine that is not in agreement with the Word of God, then it’s your duty to admonish and correct your brother or sister.

If you love your brother and sister, you will admonish and/or correct him or her. So that the person can repent and be saved. (Aqra wkoll: ‘Whom the Lord loves He chastens and scourges’)

If you don’t care about your neighbour, you keep your mouth shut. You will accept everything this person does and let him or her keep on walking in rebellion and disobedience to God; fid-dnubiet u l-inkwitajiet, on his or her way to hell.

But if you do care about your neighbour and have the compassion of Jesus Christ, then you shall open your mouth, preach the truth of God’s Word, and reprove him or her of sin. Billi tagħmel dan, you will give life to the person and prevent the person from going to hell.

Therefore walk in Jesus’ love; love Jesus and keep all His commandments.
