If Christians would know the truth about sin, and their authority in Christ and the power of the Holy Spirit, then many lives would be different. Let’s look at how Christians can stop sin according to the Bible.
What does the Bible say about the light and the darkness
The Bible says that God created the light and divided the light from the darkness. A day is divided into two parts; the light that reigns in the day and the darkness that reigns in the night. The people belong to the day and not to the night. Ngakho-ke, people live during the day and sleep at night, although there are some exceptions. Both the light and the darkness reign on earth (Genesis 1:1-5).
It’s the same in the spiritual realm, where there are two kingdoms.
UMbuso kaNkulunkulu, which is the Kingdom of Light, lapho uJesu Kristu eyiNkosi futhi ebusa. And the kingdom of the devil; umbuso wobumnyama, where the devil is king (the ruler) and reigns.
Jesus Christ is the Light of the world and is holy and righteous. Jesus represents the holiness and righteousness of God and represents life (Oh. UJohane 8:12; 9:5; 12:46; amaHebheru 1:3).

The devil is not holy and doesn’t belong to God, but he is crooked and corrupt (morally depraved). He is an archangel, who fell from his position through his pride and disobedience to God. He was thrown out of heaven and cast on the earth, where he established his own kingdom through his lies and deception.
The devil is the father of fallen man, who just like him disobeyed God’s command and fell from their position. He is the ruler of the world; ubumnyama. The devil speaks not the truth, but he speak lies. He is a liar and deceiver and sinned from the beginning. The devil aka satan aka the serpent represents sin, ububi obukhona, nokufa.
Abantu, who belong to the devil through natural birth, obey the devil and walk after (intando, izinkanuko, and desires of) the flesh in darkness, Esonweni, nobubi.
What is the difference between the sons of God and the sons of the devil?
The difference between the sons of God and the sons of the devil are visible through their lives. We don’t always see in the spirit realm whether a person is born again or not. Nokho, we can see the spiritual transformation in the natural life of a person.
A son of God obeys God and His Word (iqiniso) and a son of the devil obeys the devil and his words (amanga). Therefore the life of a person proves to whom the person belongs to, obeys and serves. Ngoba njengoba kusho uJesu, uzokwenza kanjalo recognize the tree by its fruits (Mathewu 7:15-19, Luka 6:43-45).
Uma abantu bethi, that they belong to God but live in sin (Phikelela Esonweni), their works testify that they don’t belong to God, since their spiritual state and nature have not changed. The nature of fallen man (Indalo endala) wants to keep sinning and please himself instead of God.
Izingane ezincane, Makungabikho muntu okopela wena: Okwenza ukulunga ulungile, njengoba elungile. Lowo owenza isono ungokaDeveli; Ngoba uDeveli wona kusukela ekuqaleni. People’s opinions and findings do not matter, God’s Word matters
People can have all kinds of opinions and findings and don’t agree with God and change the words of God in such a subtle manner that it seems that God tolerates everything and accept every lifestyle, kodwa IZwi LikaNkulunkulu; IQiniso likaNkulunkulu, is settled forever and shall eventually judge everyone according to his works.
You can accept and submit to God and His Word and obey the Word or you can reject God through disobedience to His Word.
The grey area, tolerance of sin, and compromising with the world, do not exist in the Kingdom of God. They are imaginations aka lies of people, which derived from a darkened carnal mind.
Ukwazi lokhu, Ake sibheke amaRoma 6:12, where Paul commanded not to let sin reign (abuse njengenkosi) in the mortal body.
How to let sin no longer reign as king in your mortal body?
When does sin reign as king in your life? Sin reigns as king in your life, if you obey the lust of the flesh that goes against the will of God and His Word and Spirit, and you keep doing the works of the flesh, which are the works of unrighteousness.

The lies of a fallen world futhi the eternal sinner are often cited to embrace, vuma, and serve sin.
Through these lies, they let sin reign as king in their life.
Instead of Christians living from their new position in Christ and their new nature, and submitting to God and His Word and living after the Spirit obeying the words in the Bible, and separating themselves from the world and having no fellowship with the works of darkness and not doing the works of the flesh, they keep living after the flesh as a sinner.
Why do Christians keep living as sinners? The main reason is izimfundiso zamanga that are preached from the pulpits in the church.
Many Christians think and live wrong due to wrong teachings that hold people in bondage of sin and death
There are many unspiritual people behind the pulpits, who may have a lot of Biblical knowledge and are charismatic and eloquent, kepha azizalwa kabusha. They don’t have the Holy Spirit abiding in them. They don’t see the Kingdom of God, because they have not entered the Kingdom of God. Since they didn’t enter, they can’t represent and bring the Kingdom of God to the people. Kodwa baseyindalo endala, Ngubani wobumnyama.
Because they belong to the darkness, they do the works of darkness and preach lies from their human carnal unrenewed mind. (Funda futhi: Abefundisi abaningi baholela izimvu kwalasha).
If you constantly keep hearing, that you are poor, that you have no power, ukuthi uyisoni futhi uzohlala eyisoni, and that it doesn’t matter to God how you live, then you shall always have a victim mentality.
You’ll have a victim mentality and live as a prisoner of the devil and a victim of death. You shall allow sin to reign as king in your life.
You have been made free from sin in Christ
Kodwa iqiniso liwukuthi, that in Christ Jesus you have been delivered from the power of darkness! You have been made free from sin, ukufa, nesihogo. Jesus Christ overcame the death and rose as Victor. He broke the covenant between man and death and the agreement between man and hell. Jesus Christ has the keys of hell and death. He is glorified and seated above all principality, amandla, amadla, kanye nobukhosi, nawo wonke amagama aqanjwe.
If you are born in Christ then you received all power and all authority in Him to reign over sin and the will of the flesh
If you are delivered from the power of darkness and death, you shall no longer do the works of darkness and bear the fruit of death, okuyisono.
You shall no longer yield your members as instruments (weapons) of unrighteousness ngaphandle, and you shall no longer walk in uncleanness in disobedience to God (in lawlessness). Kunalokho, you shall yield to God and yield your members as instruments of righteousness unto God and walk holy in obedience to God and bear the fruit of the Spirit.
The new creation is not under the law but under grace
If are a new creation and your flesh died in Christ and your spirit is raised from the dead, then you have been made free from sin and death. The power of death is broken. Death no longer reigns over you, since you are no longer ngaphansi komthetho kodwa ngaphansi komusa.

Ngikhuluma ngendlela yabantu ngenxa yobuthakathaka benyama yakho: Ngoba njengoba ninikele amalungu akho ukuba zincengeleni ukungcola nasebubini; Noma kunjalo manje nikeza amalungu akho inzuzo ekulungeni ebungcweleni.
Ngoba lapho seniyizikhonzi zesono, Enikhululekile ekulungeni. Yisiphi isithelo eninani kulezo zinto eninamahloni ngazo manje? Ekupheleni kwalezo zinto kungukufa.
Kepha manje senziwa mahhala esonweni, futhi babe yizinceku zikaNkulunkulu, Ninazo izithelo zakho ebungcweleni, Futhi ukuphela kokuphila okuphakade. Inkokhelo yesono ingukufa; Kepha isipho sikaNkulunkulu singukuphila okuphakade ngoJesu Kristu iNkosi yethu (AmaRoma 6:15-23)
Being under grace means walking in submission and obedience to God
Ngakho-ke, if you say that you are no longer under the law but under grace, you shall no longer walk in disobedience to God and His Word in sin. But you shall do what God says in His Word and live in obedience after His will.
If you keep walking after the flesh in disobedience to God and keep doing the imisebenzi yenyama, which God revealed in His Word, and therefore persevere in sin, then you have not been made free in Christ from sin and you are not under grace. You still live under the law, obusa enyameni.
Let sin no longer reign as king but let Christ reign as King in your life
A son of God obeys God and does the will of the Word and the Spirit, whereby Christ reigns as King. A son of the devil obeys the devil, Ngubani umbusi wezwe, and does the will of the flesh (the body and mind), whereby sin reigns as king.
Don’t be deceived by the words of people, but believe and obey the words of God, okuyiqiniso.
IBhayibheli lithi, ukuthi wonke umuntu, ozona (perseveres in sin) doesn’t know God and doesn’t belong to God, but belongs to the devil. Through obedience and righteousness, the sons of God are revealed and through disobedience and sin the sons of the devil are revealed (O.A. Thithu 1:16, 1 UJohane 1:5-7; 2:3-6; 3:4-24).
