When you become a ዳግመኛ መወለድ በኢየሱስ ክርስቶስ, የእግዚአብሔር ልጅ ትሆናለህ. In the spiritual realm you have been made a new creation. You have become a son of God and received God’s nature. Now your mind needs to be changed, so that the transformation from the አሮጌ ፍጥረት to the አዲስ ፍጥረት will become visible in the natural realm as well, so that you produce the right fruit in your life.
How do you change your mind? እንግዲህ, በመጀመሪያ, by renewing your mind ከእግዚአብሔር ቃል ጋር. Because as long as you don’t renew your mind with the Word of God, your mind shall remain unchanged. If your mind remains unchanged, your way of speaking and acting will remain unchanged. When you keep speaking and acting as the old man, it will defile and eventually destroy your spirit.
Therefore it’s important to renew your mind, so that your mind and your way of thinking will line up to the Word of God. You are the person, who you think you are in your mind and heart.
As a man thinks in his heart, so is he (ምሳሌ 23:7)
What’s in your heart determines what you produce in your life: life or death
A wholesome tongue is a tree of life: but perverseness therein is a breach in the spirit (ምሳሌ 15:4)
Your mind and heart determine your speech and your actions. From your heart, you will speak words of life or words of death. When your mind and heart are filled with the Word of God, you will produce life, but when your mind and heart are filled with the world, you will produce death. What do you produce? Do you produce in your life, life or death?
If you renew your mind with the Word of God, your mind and heart will change. If your mind and heart will change, ሕይወትዎ ይለወጣል.
We live in a very negative world. I mean, go to lunch with your colleagues and in almost every conversation, only the negative things will be discussed, and/or there will be a lot of gossips. Or watch the news on ቴሌቪዥን or read the newspaper, it’s all negative.
The world is full of negativity. But do you, as a born-again Christian, need to be dragged into this negativity and the way the world thinks?
አይ! በፍፁም አይደለም! You are not like the world anymore, you have been set apart. ሆነሃል አዲስ ፍጥረት, when you accepted Christ as your Saviour and Lord and by the indwelling of The Holy Spirit.
Renew your mind with the Word of God
When you read and study the Bible and meditate on His Word, your mind shall be renewed and the words of God shall be established in your heart. Your eyes will be opened for the truth, as soon as you start reading and studying the Bible.
በቃሉና በመንፈስ ቅዱስ, you will discern the two kingdoms; the Kingdom of Heaven (the Kingdom of God where Jesus Christ is King) and the kingdom of the world (የጨለማው መንግሥት, where the ruler is the devil).
You shall get to know the will of God and find out what is good and what is evil.
You shall take the pure Word of God and speak the words of God and walk in the Word. You shall become a doer of the Word and not a hearer only. And by the renewing of the Word and doing the Word, you will change into the image of Jesus Christ, ሕያው ቃል. You will walk like Jesus walked upon this earth, preaching and bringing the Kingdom of God to the people and call the people to repentance (እንዲሁም አንብብ: ‘ሰሚዎቹ vs ሰሪዎች'').
Death and life are in the power of your tongue
God says: death and life are in the power of the tongue, and those who love it will eat its fruit (proverbs 18:21)
So when you speak out of the flesh like the world and speak negatively about certain situations, persons, ወዘተ.. you will produce death.
But when you restrain from evil words that contradict the Word of God and speak Godly words (words that line up with the will of God) በምትኩ, you will produce life.
በመጀመሪያ, this can be difficult and from time to time, you will certainly be tempted to say something, you shouldn’t say.
But if you take the scriptures, which are mentioned above, and other scriptures regarding this subject, and meditate on them, they will be established in your mind and heart and they shall come to live.
The words of God and principles of the Kingdom of God will begin to take hold of your mind and will live in your heart.
Your words will line up with His words, and you will speak life over people, ሁኔታዎች, ችግሮች, difficulties, ወዘተ.
If a negative thought arises in your mind and you want to speak out that thought, then before you can speak out that thought, you will be stopped. That’s because the Holy Spirit will bring to your mind the Word, that you have made your own.
በዚያ ቅጽበት, you have a choice to either obey the Word of God and close your mouth or to reject the Word of God and produce destruction and death with the words of your mouth. What do you produce with your mouth? Life or death?
I would like to encourage you to study the Word of God. Write down the scriptures and read and meditate on the words of God, over and over again.
The words, the seeds, will grow and you will become a tree of life. When you have become a tree of life, you will share life instead of death. You will bear the fruits of life and give these to those, who need them. Isn’t that wonderful!
