To sin or not to sin is the decision you make in life. Every person is responsible for his or her own life and decides to believe God and His Word (Bibeln) and walk in the will of God or not. Just like the Father, Jesus gave a command to sin no more but it was up to the people to give heed to his command or not. Let’s look at the story of the healing of the lame man at the pool of Bethesda and the woman who committed adultery and was caught in the act.
The healing of the lame man at the pool of Bethesda
I Johannesevangeliet 5:1-15, Jesus botade en man, som hade en sjukdom för 38 år. Denna lame man lade sig på en säng vid Bethesda-dammen.
When Jesus saw the lame man, He went to him and asked him if he wanted to get well. Den lame mannen svarade Jesus, that he didn’t have anyone to bring him to the water to get healed.
Då befallde Jesus mannen att resa sig upp och ta sin säng och gå. The man obeyed the words of Jesus and stood up and walked. Den lame mannen blev botad av Jesus! But what did Jesus say to him about the decision to sin or not to sin?
Why did Jesus say to Sin no more?
When Jesus met the man who was healed of his infirmity in the Temple in Jerusalem, Jesus befallde mannen att inte synda mer. Why did Jesus say to sin no more? Lest a worse thing would come unto him.
Jesus botade mannen från hans sjukdom (hans svaghet). Mannen blev frisk och Guds rike hade kommit till honom.
Mörkrets rike hade fängslat mannen för 38 år. But when Jesus came and the power of the Kingdom of heaven came upon him, mannen släpptes från sitt träldom.
Efteråt fann Jesus honom i templet, och sade till honom, Skåda, du har blivit hel: synd inte mer, så att något värre inte kommer till dig
John 5:14
Jesus släppte mannen från mörkrets andliga fängelse
Jesus released this lame man from this spiritual prison of darkness. Now that this man was released from this spiritual prison of darkness, Jesus commanded the healed man to no violate the spiritual laws by sinning.
Med andra ord; Jesus told the man to keep the commandments and do the Guds vilja and stay obedient to God instead of obeying and doing the will of the devil (som verkar i köttet) genom att synda.
Because if the man decided to reject the commandment of Jesus and disobey God and sin, he would be taken captive again by the forces of darkness and worse things would happen to him.
Jesus varnade mannen, because the man was carnal. He didn’t see the spiritual realm and couldn’t discern the spirits. But Jesus was spiritual and knew the spirit realm and the spiritual laws and revealed it to him through His word.
Jesus knew the Kingdom of Heaven and the kingdom of darkness. He wanted this man to stay free and not become a prisoner of the devil and darkness again.
Därför, Jesus befallde mannen att inte synda mer.
sa Jesus, Go and sin no more to the woman that committed adultery
I Johannesevangeliet 8:1-11, we read about a woman that was caught in the act of adultery. The woman that committed adultery was brought unto Jesus. De skriftlärda och fariséerna anklagade kvinnan för äktenskapsbrott och berättade för Jesus vad hon hade gjort.
They suggested to stone her according to the Mose lag. But the words of these men didn’t come from a good conscience. They only wanted to tempt Jesus, so that they could accuse Him.
Jesus skrev på marken med sitt finger och sa till dem, “He who’s sinless among you, låt honom vara den förste att kasta stenen på henne“.
Jesus knew that the people that belonged to the old generation of fallen man were carnal. They were trapped in the sinful nature of the flesh.
Instead of stoning the adultrous woman, the men left one by one until there was no one left except Jesus and the adultrous woman.
I det ögonblicket, Jesus had the power to condemn the woman and stone her. Because Jesus walked in the authority of the Kingdom of God (som den nya skapelsen) and was sinless.
dock, Jesus said to the woman that He wouldn’t condemn her either. Since it was not Jesus’ time to judge but to save.
MEN… Jesus godkände inte of her work of adultery. Jesus commanded the woman to go her way and synd inte mer.

John 8:11
Den nya skapelsen är skild från världen
When you repent and become born again in Christ and enter the Kingdom of God, you leave the kingdom of darkness and are separated from the world. You have been forgiven, inlösta, and made whole and righteous by the blood of Jesus Christ.
You’ve become new creation and as a result of this spiritual transformation, du kommer skjuta upp din gamle man med sina gamla vanor.
Du kommer inte längre att gå den väg du gick innan din omvändelse, because you repented from that lifestyle and its works (av köttet).
Det är viktigt att inse det du är inte längre en syndare. You have become a saint through regeneration in Christ.
If you don’t realize and believe this, you will always think and live as a sinner. You’ll be stuck in your sins and never be freed from your sins.

In your old life, you thought like the world and walked in sin (sin = disobedience to God. It’s everything that goes against the Word of God that represents the will of God) and you were of the devil.
The nature of the devil will do his will
You had the character and nature of your father the devil. In your fallen state, du kunde inte underkasta dig Gud och göra hans vilja. Istället, you lived after the will of the flesh in rebellion.
You were rebellious towards God and His Word and obedient to the words and will of the devil (Viljan, lusta, and desire of your flesh), och levde i synd. Bibeln säger, att om du syndar, you have the devil as father and do the lust thereof (John 8:44).
When you decided att omvända sig, du sa indirekt att du inte ville ha djävulen som din far längre. Du ville inte lyda hans ord och vandra i hans vilja. Du var trött på ditt liv under hans auktoritet.
När du hörde evangeliets ord och träffade Jesus Kristus, du trodde på Honom och tog emot Honom som din Frälsare och Herre.
Du ville ha Gud som din Fader istället för djävulen och lyda hans ord och vandra i hans vilja. Du ville inte lyda djävulens ord och vandra i hans vilja.
Guds natur kommer att göra hans vilja
From the moment you are born again and receive the nature of your Father God, you will long for Him and the things of His Kingdom. There must be a desire to do the will of God and to walk according to what God says.
A real father knows what is good for his child. A real father wants the best for his child. Om en jordisk far vill det bästa för sina barn, hur mycket mer din himmelske Fader.
Det är därför, God revealed His will to us in His Word (Bibeln).
God revealed to us not only what pleases Him and what displeases Him, but He also revealed the way of salvation, hur man bli en ny skapelse and how to walk as the new creation in His will.
God revealed it all in the Bible which is His Word. Så att, Hans sätt blir din väg och His thoughts becomes your thoughts.
Did the people choose to sin or not to sin?
Jesus berättade för mannen, som blev botad från sin sjukdom och kvinnan, som greps för äktenskapsbrott, att inte synda mer. Därför, these people had the power to sin no more. They had the power to say ‘no to sin’. But did they obey the commandment of Jesus and choose to sin no more or not?
sade Jesus till honom, Du skall älska Herren din Gud av hela ditt hjärta, och av hela din själ, och med hela ditt sinne. Detta är det första och stora budet. Och det andra liknar det, Du ska älska din granne som dig själv. På dessa två bud hänger hela lagen och profeterna (Matthew 22:37-40)
Kvinnan hade makten att säga nej’ till äktenskapsbrott, för annars, Jesus skulle inte ha gett henne budet att inte synda längre. Frågan är, svarade kvinnan Jesus’ bud att inte synda mer?
Did the adulterous woman obey the commandment of Jesus or did she let her feelings, hennes lust, and her desire rule over the words of Jesus and give in to her feelings of lust and desire?
Komma ihåg, när Jesus befallde att inte synda mer, His crucifixion and the den helige Andes utgjutelse had not taken place yet.
So these people were not born again. De var fortfarande den gamla skapelsen. However the old creation had the power to say ‘no’ att synda och att inte synda mer.
Du har också makten att inte synda längre. Du bestämmer dig för att synda eller inte.
Genom Jesu Kristi frälsningsverk, du har blivit helig och rättfärdig. Nu när du har blivit helig och rättfärdig, du har också blivit kallad att leva i helighet och rättfärdighet (2 Korinthierbrevet 5:21).
Frälst av nåd och gör Andens gärningar
Du räddas inte av verk, but by grace. Men att vara under nåd betyder inte att du får fortsätta att synda. För om ditt kött har dött i Kristus när du blev född på nytt, hur kan du göra köttets gärningar?
Du ska älska Herren din Gud av hela ditt hjärta, och av hela din själ och av hela ditt förstånd och du ska älska din nästa som dig själv (Matthew 22:37-40)
When you are saved and born again, you see the nature and effect of sin, som är dödens frukt. You will hate sin, precis som Gud. Du kommer att hata ditt tidigare liv som syndare och kommer inte att återvända till det. (Läs också: Kan du fortsätta att synda under nåden?)
När du Älskar Gud av hela ditt hjärta, själ, sinne, och styrka ska du älska att göra hans vilja.
You shall spend time with God and renew your mind with the Word of God (Bibeln) and apply His words into your life, så att du blir en görare av Guds ord och gör Andens gärningar. Du behöver inte, men du vill, därför att du är skapad i hans likhet och du älskar Gud.
När Ordet och den Helige Ande bor inom dig, du kommer att vandra efter Anden i lydnad mot Ordet. Du kommer att gå i kärlek, helighet, och rättfärdighet, gör Faderns vilja och upphöjer och förhärliga honom.
