Waxa ku dhashay jidhka waa jidh; Oo waxa ka dhashay Ruuxa waa ruux (John 3:6).
We have a spirit, nafta iyo jirka. The question you might ask yourselves is: am I carnal and do I live after the flesh? Si kale haddii loo dhigo: does my flesh direct my steps and actions? Or do I live after the Spirit, and does my spirit direct my steps and actions?
You can live after the flesh or you can live after the Spirit. Hadaad ku socoto jidhka ka dib, then the result will be bad. But if you life after the Spirit then the result will be good.
Nin muxuu beeraa, wuu goosan doonaa. Haddaad hilibka ku beerto, you will reap corruption and if you sow in the Spirit, you will reap life everlasting (Sidoo kale akhri: Waxa aad beerato, waad guran doontaa).
But let’s have a look at what Jesus meant by the new birth. What He meant, when He said, that you can only Geli boqortooyada Ilaah if you are born of water and Spirit. (JN 3:3, 7)
If Jesus needed to restore the union, it means that union was there once, but was broken. Sidaa darteed, we need to go back to the Beerta Eden to understand the necessity of the new birth.
Throughout human history we see, that people chose the way of the flesh; walking in obedience to the devil, instead the way of the Spirit; walking in obedience to the Father. This started already in the Garden of Eden, where Adam and Eve chose the carnal tree of knowledge rather than the holy tree of life. Because they desired and chose the carnal tree above the holy tree of life, God was compelled to pronounce the sentence of dead upon them.
Aadan wuxuu ahaa qof nool
Aadan wuxuu ahaa qof nool, ka dhashay Ruuxa. Wuxuu ahaa mid Ilaah. But after he sinned, Xukunka dhimashada ayaa ku soo dhacay. And God said to him, that as he came from dust, and was dust, he also would return to dust.
Ka hor inta aan Adam dembaabnayn, dabeecaddiisa ugu caansan waxay ahayd ruux, but after he became disobedient to God and sinned, his predominant characteristic was flesh.
That sentence of death, that carnal disposition, was passed on to the entire human race. Qof walba, oo ka dhalan doona abuur ninka, would carry the death. Sidaa darteed qof walba, who is born on this earth is carnal, and is a prisoner of the sin nature. Ma jiro qof laga reebay.
How do you enter the Kingdom of God?
Because we are carnal and carry the sin nature, we cannot enter in this status the Kingdom of God:
Laakiin ninka dabiiciga ahi ma helo waxyaalaha Ruuxa Ilaah ah: waayo, iyagu waa nacasnimo isaga: midkoodna ma ogaan karo, maxaa yeelay iyagu waa kuwo si ruuxi ahaan loo garta (1 Korintos 2:14)
Hadda waxaan dhahay, walaac ah, in jidhka iyo dhiiggu aanay dhaxli karin boqortooyada Ilaah; Oo ciduna musuqmaasu ha dhaxlin quraankablayn (1 Korintos 15:50)
Ilaah waa ruux: Kuwa caabuda oo kuwaasna waa inay ku caabudaan Ruuxa iyo runta (John 4:24)
What is the necessity of the new birth?
Now you see the necessity of becoming born again. Only by the new birth can we receive eternal life and enter the Kingdom of God.
This spiritual life can ONLY be achieved through faith in the Lord Jesus Christ. Faith is the catalyst that brings us to an encounter with the Holy Spirit, who regenerates us, so that we are born into the heavenly realm just as you were once born into the earthly realm.
Necessity of the new birth emphasised in other places
The necessity of the new birth is emphasised in other places:
- The universal results of sin demands it:
Saadaaf, Sida uu hal nin dembi galay adduunka, iyo geeri dembiga; Oo sidaas daraaddeed dhimashadu dadku way soo martay, maxaa yeelay, wax walba way wada dembaabeen (Fam 5:12)
Sida qoran, Ma jiro mid xaq ah, maya, midna ma aha (Fam 3:10)
- Unregenerate man is unable to understand or receive the gifts of God
Laakiin ninka dabiiciga ah ma helo waxyaalaha Ruuxa Ilaah ah: waayo, iyagu waa nacasnimo isaga: midkoodna ma ogaan karo, maxaa yeelay iyagu waa kuwo si ruuxi ahaan loo garta (1 Co 2:14)
- Without the new birth everything we do, dareen kasta iyo fal kasta waa nijaasoobay
Waayo, gudaha, ka baxay qalbiga ragga, sii wad fikradaha xun, siday, si isgaarsi ah, dilid, Tuugo, bakhaylnimo, xumaan, khiyaano, xirtaa, il xun, cayda, kibir, doqonimo: Dhammaan waxyaalahaas xunxun waxay ka yimaadaan gudaha, oo ninka nijaaseeya (Mar 7:21-23)
- Haddaynaan mar kale dhalan, kama baxsanno xukunka Ilaah
Adiguna isagaa nooleeyey, kuwaas oo u dhintay xadgudubyo iyo dembiyo; Taas oo aad waagii hore ku socon jirteen sida socodka adduunku ahaa, sida uu yiri amiirkii xoogga hawada, Ruuxa hadda qiimihiisu ku jiro carruurta caasinimada: Isagaynu dhammaanteen waagii hore ku soconnay damacyada jidhkayaga, oofinta rabitaanka jidhka iyo maskaxda; oo xagga dabiicadda waxay ahaayeen carruurtii cadhada, xataa sida kuwa kale (Eph 2:1-3)
