Jehovah – ‘I am that I am’
And God said unto Moses, I Am that I Am: and He said, ለእስራኤል ልጆች እንዲህ በላቸው, I Am hath sent me unto you. እግዚአብሔርም ደግሞ ሙሴን አለው።, ለእስራኤል ልጆች እንዲህ በላቸው, የአባቶቻችሁ አምላክ እግዚአብሔር, የአብርሃም አምላክ, የይስሐቅ አምላክ, የያዕቆብም አምላክ, ወደ እናንተ ልኮኛል።: this is My Name for ever, and this is My memorial unto all generations (ዘፀአት 3: 14-15)
እኔ ጌታ ነኝና።, አልቀየርኩም (ሚልክያስ 3:6)
Yah (Jah the holy Name) abbreviation of Jehovah
The Lord is my strength and song, and He is become my salvation: He is my God, and I will prepare him an habitation; my father’s God, and I will exalt him (ዘፀአት 15:2)
For he said, Because the Lord hath sworn that the Lord will have war with Amalek from generation to generation (ዘፀአት 17:16)
A father of the fatherless, and a judge of the widows, is God in his holy habitation (መዝሙራት 68:5)
Let every thing that hath breath praise the Lord. Praise ye the Lord (መዝሙራት 150:6)
Jah-Elohim – Lord God
Thou hast ascended on high, thou hast led captivity captive: thou hast received gifts for men; አዎን, for the rebellious also, that the Lord God might dwell among them (መዝሙራት 68:18)
Jah-Jehovah – Lord Jehovah
እነሆ, God is my salvation; I will trust, and not be afraid: for the Lord Jehovah is my strength and my song; he also is become my salvation (ኢሳያስ 12:2)
Trust ye in the Lord for ever: for in the Lord Jehovah is everlasting strength (ኢሳያስ 26:4)
Jehovah-Elohim – The Lord God, the Redeemer-Creator
These are the generations of the heavens and of the earth when they were created, in the day that the Lord God made the earth and the heavens (ኦሪት ዘፍጥረት 2:4)
Jehovah-Elohim-Sabaoth – Lord God of Hosts
አቤቱ የሠራዊት አምላክ, hear my prayer: give ear, O God of Jacob. Selah (መዝሙራት 84:8)
ቃልህ ተገኝቷል, እኔም በላኋቸው; and thy word was unto me the joy and rejoicing of mine heart: for I am called by thy name, አቤቱ የሠራዊት አምላክ (ኤርምያስ 15:16)
Jehovah-Elyon – The Lord Most High
I will praise the Lord according to his righteousness: and will sing praise to the name of the Lord Most High (መዝሙራት 7:17)
Jehovah-Gibbor – The Lord is Mighty
The Lord shall go forth as a mighty man, he shall stir up jealousy like a man of war: he shall cry, አዎን, roar; he shall prevail against his enemies (ኢሳያስ 42:13)
Jehovah-Hosenu – The Lord our Maker
O come, let us worship and bow down: let us kneel before the Lord our maker (መዝሙራት 95:6)
Jehovah-Jireh – The Lord will provide
And Abraham called the name of that place Jehovah Jireh: as it is said to this day, In the mount of the Lord it shall be seen (ኦሪት ዘፍጥረት 22:14)
Jehovah-Kanna – The Lord Who is Jealous
Thou shalt not bow down thyself to them, nor serve them: for I the Lord thy God am a jealous God (ዘፀአት 20:5)
For thou shalt worship no other god: for the Lord, whose name is Jealous, is a jealous God (ዘፀአት 34:14)
Thou shalt not bow down thyself unto them, nor serve them: for I the Lord thy God am a jealous God (ዘዳግም 5:9)
Jehovah-Mekaddeskum – The Lord who sanctifies
Speak thou also unto the children of Israel, እያለ ነው።, Verily my sabbaths ye shall keep: for it is a sign between me and you throughout your generations; that ye may know that I am the Lord that doth sanctify you (ዘፀአት 31:13)
And ye shall keep my statutes, እና አድርጓቸው: I am the Lord which sanctify you (ዘሌዋውያን 20:8)
Jehovah-Nissi – The Lord is my Banner
And Moses built an altar, and called the name of it Jehovahnissi (ዘፀአት 17:15)
Jehovah-Raah (Râ’âh) – The Lord is my Shepherd
The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want (መዝሙራት 23:1)
Jehovah-Rapha – The Lord that heals
If thou wilt diligently hearken to the voice of the Lord thy God, and wilt do that which is right in his sight, and wilt give ear to his commandments, and keep all his statutes, I will put none of these diseases upon thee, which I have brought upon the Egyptians: for I am the Lord that healeth thee (ዘፀአት 15:26)
Jehovah-Sabaoth – The Lord of Hosts
And this man went up out of his city yearly to worship and to sacrifice unto the Lord of hosts in Shiloh. And the two sons of Eli, Hophni and Phinehas, the priests of the Lord, were there (1 ሳሙኤል 1:3)
Who is this King of glory? The Lord of hosts, he is the King of glory (መዝሙራት 24:10)
How amiable are thy tabernacles, O Lord of hosts (መዝሙራት 84:1)
አዎን, the sparrow hath found an house, and the swallow a nest for herself, where she may lay her young, even thine altars, O Lord of hosts, my King, and my God (መዝሙራት 84:3)
Adonai-Jehovah-Sabaoth – Master Lord of Lords
Let not them that wait on thee, አቤቱ የሠራዊት አምላክ, be ashamed for my sake: let not those that seek thee be confounded for my sake, O God of Israel (መዝሙራት 69:6)
Jehovah-Shalom – The Lord our Peace
Then Gideon built an altar there unto the Lord, and called it Jehovahshalom: unto this day it is yet in Ophrah of the Abiezrites (Judges 6:24)
Jehovah-Shammah – The Lord is There, ever-present
It was round about eighteen thousand measures: and the name of the city from that day shall be, The Lord is there (ሕዝቅኤል 48:35)
Jehovah-Shaphat – The Lord is Judge
Wherefore I have not sinned against thee, but thou doest me wrong to war against me: the Lord the Judge be Judge this day between the children of Israel and the children of Ammon (Judges 11:27)
Jehovah-Tsidkenu – The Lord our Righteousness
In his days Judah shall be saved, and Israel shall dwell safely: and this is his name whereby he shall be called, the Lord our Righteousness (ምክንያቱም 23:6)
Jehovah-Jehoshua-Christos – The Lord Jesus Christ (Jehovah’s Saviour Anointed)
ወንድ ልጅም ትወልዳለች።, ስሙንም ኢየሱስ ትለዋለህ: for He shall save His people from their sins (ማቴዎስ 1:21)
For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Saviour, which is Christ the Lord (ሉቃ 2:11)
And it was revealed unto him by the Holy Ghost, that he should not see death, before he had seen the Lord’s Christ (ሉቃ 2:26)
The Lord said unto my Lord, Sit thou on my right hand, Until I make thy foes thy footstool. Therefore let all the house of Israel know assuredly, that God hath made that same Jesus, whom ye have crucified, ጌታም ክርስቶስም (የሐዋርያት ሥራ 2:35-36)
Which he wrought in Christ, when he raised him from the dead, and set him at his own right hand in the heavenly places, Far above all principality, እና ኃይል, and might, and dominion, and every name that is named, not only in this world, but also in that which is to come. (Ephesisans 1:20-21)
የእግዚአብሔር አዳኝ ስሞች
These redemptive Names of God represents God. These redemptive Names represent God and tell us who God is and that He meets every need of mankind. In the Name of Jesus are all the redemptive Names of God represented. All the fullness of God the Father dwells in Jesus, the Son.
