Em Colossenses 2:11-12 we read about the circumcision in Christ and being buried with Christ in baptism and risen with Him through the faith of the operation of God. But what does buried with Christ in baptism and risen with Him through the faith of the operation of God mean according to the Bible?
The circumcision in Christ
Em quem também fostes circuncidados com a circuncisão feita sem mãos, em despojar-se do corpo dos pecados da carne pela circuncisão de Cristo: Enterrado com ele no batismo, em que também se levantou com ele através da fé da operação de Deus, que o ressuscitou dentre os mortos (Colossenses 2:11-12)
The new creation is circumcised in the circumcision of Jesus Christ. This circumcision is not made with hands, a natural circumcision of the foreskin of a male. But this circumcision is a work of the Spirit and takes place by putting off the body of the sinful flesh of males and females. The circumcision in Christ; the putting off the body of the sins of the flesh, takes place by baptism, when the old man (carne) is buried with Christ and becomes a partaker of His death and the new man (espírito) has risen from the dead through the faith of the operation of God, who has raised Him from the dead.

O que diremos então? Continuaremos no pecado, que a graça possa abundar? Deus me livre. Como devemos, que estão mortos para o pecado, viver mais lá? Sabe que não, que tantos de nós que fomos batizados em Jesus Cristo fomos batizados em Sua morte? Portanto, estamos enterrados com ele pelo batismo na morte: que, assim como Cristo foi levantado dentre os mortos pela glória do Pai, assim também nós devemos andar em novidade de vida.
Pois se fomos plantados juntos à semelhança de sua morte, seremos também à semelhança da Sua ressurreição: Sabendo disso, que nosso velho é crucificado com ele, que o corpo do pecado pode ser destruído, daqui em diante não devemos servir o pecado. Pois quem está morto está liberto do pecado (Romanos 6:1-7)
When you were baptized, you were circumcised in the circumcision of Christ and you have buried your old former life.
O velho homem, who is carnal and sense-ruled and is dominated by the sinful nature, no longer exists.
O velho homem, o homem carnal, has died in Christ and the new man, o homem espiritual, has been risen in Christ from the dead.
Old things have passed away, todas as coisas se tornaram novas!
You believed in Jesus Christ and decided to siga Jesus and entered a covenant with Him and as a sign of the covenant is the circumcision in Christ.
Just like in the Old Covenant the natural circumcision of the foreskin was a sign of the covenant between God, Abraão, e his Seed, na Nova Aliança, the circumcision by putting off the body of the sins of the flesh through baptism, is a sign of the New Covenant in Christ.
The new man is risen with Christ from the dead
Agora, se estivermos mortos com Cristo, Acreditamos que também viveremos com ele: Sabendo que Cristo sendo levantado a partir dos mortos não mais; a morte não tem mais domínio sobre ele. Pois nisso Ele morreu, Ele morreu para o pecado uma vez: mas nisso Ele vive, He liveth unto God. Da mesma forma, considerai-vos também vós mesmos como mortos para o pecado, mas vivos para Deus por meio de Jesus Cristo, nosso Senhor.
Não deixe o pecado, portanto, reinar em seu corpo mortal, para que lhe obedeçais em suas concupiscências. Nem entregueis vossos membros como instrumentos de injustiça ao pecado: mas entreguem-se a Deus, como aqueles que estão vivos dentre os mortos, e seus membros como instrumentos de justiça para Deus. Pois o pecado não terá domínio sobre você: porque não estais debaixo da lei, mas sob a graça.
O que então? Vamos pecar, Porque não estamos sob a lei, mas sob a graça? Deus me livre. Sabe que não, Aquele que vocês se rendem aos servos para obedecer, Seus servos são para quem obedece; seja de pecado até a morte, ou de obediência à justiça? (Romanos 6:8-16)
E se Cristo estiver em você, O corpo está morto por causa do pecado; Mas o espírito é a vida por causa da justiça (Romanos 8:10)
Porque, se viverdes segundo a carne, vós morrereis: mas se pelo Espírito mortificardes as obras do corpo, vós vivereis. Pois todos os que são guiados pelo Espírito de Deus, eles são os filhos de Deus (Romanos 8:13-14)
Jesus Christ has conquered the death! If you have become a new creation in Him, you have been redeemed from the power of sin and death by the putting of the body of the sins of the flesh and you have been given power in Christ to reign over sin and death.
You shall no longer listen to the flesh and be led by the sinful nature of the flesh and fulfill the lusts and desires of the flesh, since the flesh with its sinful nature has died in Christ.
The proof that the flesh has died in Christ
If the flesh with the sinful nature has died in Christ, the flesh shall no longer produce the unrighteous works of the flesh, which are a.o. adultério, fornicação, divórcio, (sexual) Impureza, efeminação, carinho excessivo (luxúria), concupiscência maligna, avareza, raiva, ira, malícia, blasfêmia, comunicação imunda, mentindo, lascívia, idolatria, feitiçaria, ódio, variação, Emulações, luta, sedições, Heresias, inveja, roubando, Assassinatos, embriaguez, folias (1 Coríntios 6:9- 6, Gálatas 5:19-21, Colossenses 3:5-10).
If you still do the works of the flesh, you are not circumcised in Christ, because the body of the sins of the flesh has not been put off and is not buried in Christ but is still alive.
A antiga criação, who belongs to the world and lives in the kingdom of darkness, does these unrighteous works. But if you are born again and you are circumcised in the circuncisão de Cristo by the putting off the body of sins of the flesh, you shall not do those works anymore, but you shall do righteous works according to the will of God.
You shall listen to the Father and submit yourself to His Word and obey the words of God and apply them into your life, since the Word of God is the truth. You shall walk after the Spirit in the will of God and the Spirit shall reign in your life. Como resultado, you shall live a holy life unto God and bear the fruto do Espírito.
