To sin or not to sin is the decision you make in life. Every person is responsible for his or her own life and decides to believe God and His Word (Alkitab) and walk in the will of God or not. Just like the Father, Jesus gave a command to sin no more but it was up to the people to give heed to his command or not. Let’s look at the story of the healing of the lame man at the pool of Bethesda and the woman who committed adultery and was caught in the act.
The healing of the lame man at the pool of Bethesda
Dalam John 5:1-15, Yesus menyembuhkan seorang lelaki, yang mempunyai kelemahan untuk 38 tahun. Lelaki lumpuh ini diletakkan di atas katil di kolam Bethesda.
When Jesus saw the lame man, He went to him and asked him if he wanted to get well. Lelaki lumpuh menjawab Yesus, that he didn’t have anyone to bring him to the water to get healed.
Kemudian Yesus memerintahkan lelaki itu untuk bangkit dan tidur dan berjalan. The man obeyed the words of Jesus and stood up and walked. Lelaki lumpuh itu disembuhkan oleh Yesus! But what did Jesus say to him about the decision to sin or not to sin?
Why did Jesus say to Sin no more?
When Jesus met the man who was healed of his infirmity in the Temple in Jerusalem, Yesus memerintahkan lelaki itu untuk tidak berdosa lagi. Why did Jesus say to sin no more? Lest a worse thing would come unto him.
Yesus menyembuhkan lelaki itu dari penyakitnya (kelemahannya). Lelaki itu dijadikan penuh dan kerajaan Tuhan telah datang kepadanya.
Kerajaan Kegelapan telah memikat lelaki itu untuk 38 tahun. But when Jesus came and the power of the Kingdom of heaven came upon him, Lelaki itu dibebaskan dari perhambaannya.
Selepas itu Yesus menemuinya di kuil, dan berkata kepadanya, Lihatlah, Engkau membuat keseluruhan: tidak berdosa lagi, supaya perkara yang lebih buruk datang kepada -Mu
John 5:14
Yesus melepaskan lelaki itu dari penjara rohani kegelapan
Jesus released this lame man from this spiritual prison of darkness. Now that this man was released from this spiritual prison of darkness, Jesus commanded the healed man to no violate the spiritual laws by sinning.
Dengan kata lain; Jesus told the man to keep the commandments and do the kehendak Tuhan and stay obedient to God instead of obeying and doing the will of the devil (yang bekerja dalam daging) dengan berdosa.
Because if the man decided to reject the commandment of Jesus and disobey God and sin, he would be taken captive again by the forces of darkness and worse things would happen to him.
Yesus memberi amaran kepada lelaki itu, because the man was carnal. He didn’t see the spiritual realm and couldn’t discern the spirits. But Jesus was spiritual and knew the spirit realm and the spiritual laws and revealed it to him through His word.
Jesus knew the Kingdom of Heaven and the kingdom of darkness. He wanted this man to stay free and not become a prisoner of the devil and darkness again.
Itu, Yesus memerintahkan lelaki itu untuk tidak berdosa lagi.
Yesus berkata, Go and sin no more to the woman that committed adultery
Dalam John 8:1-11, we read about a woman that was caught in the act of adultery. The woman that committed adultery was brought unto Jesus. Ahli Taurat dan orang Farisi menuduh wanita perzinaan dan memberitahu Yesus apa yang telah dilakukannya.
They suggested to stone her according to the Hukum Musa. But the words of these men didn’t come from a good conscience. They only wanted to tempt Jesus, so that they could accuse Him.
Yesus menulis di atas tanah dengan jarinya dan berkata kepada mereka, “He who’s sinless among you, Biarkan dia menjadi yang pertama membuang batu ke atasnya“.
Jesus knew that the people that belonged to the old generation of fallen man were carnal. They were trapped in the sinful nature of the flesh.
Instead of stoning the adultrous woman, the men left one by one until there was no one left except Jesus and the adultrous woman.
Pada masa itu, Jesus had the power to condemn the woman and stone her. Because Jesus walked in the authority of the Kingdom of God (Sebagai ciptaan baru) and was sinless.
Namun begitu, Jesus said to the woman that He wouldn’t condemn her either. Since it was not Jesus’ time to judge but to save.
Tetapi… Yesus Tidak meluluskan of her work of adultery. Jesus commanded the woman to go her way and tidak berdosa lagi.
Yesus berkata kepadanya, Saya juga tidak mengutuk awak: Pergi, Dan dosa tidak lagi
John 8:11
Penciptaan baru dipisahkan dari dunia
When you repent and become born again in Christ and enter the Kingdom of God, you leave the kingdom of darkness and are separated from the world. You have been forgiven, ditebus, and made whole and righteous by the blood of Jesus Christ.
You’ve become new creation and as a result of this spiritual transformation, Anda akan menanggalkan lelaki tua anda dengan tabiat lama.
Anda tidak akan lagi berjalan dengan cara anda berjalan sebelum pertobatan anda, because you repented from that lifestyle and its works (dari daging).

If you don’t realize and believe this, you will always think and live as a sinner. You’ll be stuck in your sins and never be freed from your sins.
Semasa anda dilahirkan semula, anda melangkah dari satu kerajaan rohani ke yang lain (Kolose 1:13-14)
In your old life, you thought like the world and walked in sin (sin = disobedience to God. It’s everything that goes against the Word of God that represents the will of God) and you were of the devil.
The nature of the devil will do his will
You had the character and nature of your father the devil. In your fallen state, anda tidak dapat tunduk kepada Tuhan dan melakukan kehendak -Nya. Sebaliknya, you lived after the will of the flesh in rebellion.
You were rebellious towards God and His Word and obedient to the words and will of the devil (kehendaknya, nafsu, and desire of your flesh), dan hidup dalam dosa. Kata Alkitab, jika anda berdosa, you have the devil as father and do the lust thereof (John 8:44).
When you decided untuk bertaubat, Anda secara tidak langsung mengatakan bahawa anda tidak mahu mempunyai syaitan sebagai ayah anda lagi. Anda tidak mahu mematuhi kata -kata dan berjalan dalam kehendaknya. Anda bosan dengan kehidupan anda di bawah kuasa -Nya.
Apabila anda mendengar kata -kata Injil dan bertemu dengan Yesus Kristus, Anda percaya kepada -Nya dan menerima Dia sebagai Juruselamat dan Tuhanmu.
Anda menginginkan Tuhan sebagai Bapa -Mu dan bukannya syaitan dan mematuhi kata -kata -Nya dan berjalan dengan kehendak -Nya. Anda tidak mahu mematuhi kata -kata syaitan dan berjalan dalam kehendaknya.
Sifat Tuhan akan melakukan kehendak -Nya
From the moment you are born again and receive the nature of your Father God, you will long for Him and the things of His Kingdom. There must be a desire to do the will of God and to walk according to what God says.
A real father knows what is good for his child. A real father wants the best for his child. Sekiranya bapa dunia mahukan yang terbaik untuk anak -anaknya, Betapa lebih banyak Bapa Syurgawi anda.
Itulah sebabnya, God revealed His will to us in His Word (Alkitab).
God revealed to us not only what pleases Him and what displeases Him, but He also revealed the way of salvation, Cara Menjadi ciptaan baru and how to walk as the new creation in His will.
God revealed it all in the Bible which is His Word. Jadi itu, Jalannya menjadi jalan anda dan His thoughts becomes your thoughts.
Did the people choose to sin or not to sin?
Yesus memberitahu lelaki itu, yang disembuhkan dari kelemahannya dan wanita itu, yang terperangkap dalam perbuatan perzinaan, untuk tidak berdosa lagi. Itu, these people had the power to sin no more. They had the power to say ‘no to sin’. But did they obey the commandment of Jesus and choose to sin no more or not?

Wanita itu mempunyai kuasa untuk mengatakan 'Tidak’ kepada perzinaan, kerana sebaliknya, Yesus tidak akan memberinya perintah untuk berdosa lagi. Persoalannya, Adakah wanita itu bertindak balas kepada Yesus’ perintah untuk dosa tidak lagi?
Did the adulterous woman obey the commandment of Jesus or did she let her feelings, nafsu dia, and her desire rule over the words of Jesus and give in to her feelings of lust and desire?
Ingat, Ketika Yesus memerintahkan untuk berdosa lagi, His crucifixion and the Pencurian Roh Kudus had not taken place yet.
So these people were not born again. Mereka masih ciptaan lama. However the old creation had the power to say ‘no’ untuk berdosa dan tidak berdosa lagi.
Anda juga mempunyai kuasa untuk berdosa lagi. Anda memutuskan untuk berdosa atau tidak berdosa.
Melalui Kerja penebusan Yesus Kristus, Anda telah menjadi suci dan soleh. Sekarang anda telah menjadi suci dan soleh, Anda juga telah dipanggil untuk hidup dalam kesucian dan kebenaran (2 Korintus 5:21).
Diselamatkan oleh rahmat dan melakukan kerja -kerja semangat
Anda tidak diselamatkan oleh kerja, but by grace. Tetapi berada di bawah rahmat tidak bermakna anda dibenarkan untuk terus berdosa. Kerana jika dagingmu telah mati dalam Kristus ketika kamu dilahirkan semula, Bagaimana anda boleh melakukan kerja -kerja daging?
Anda akan mengasihi Tuhan Tuhanmu dengan sepenuh hati, Dan dengan semua jiwa anda dan dengan segenap fikiran anda dan anda akan mengasihi jiran anda seperti diri anda sendiri (Matthew 22:37-40)
When you are saved and born again, you see the nature and effect of sin, yang merupakan buah kematian. You will hate sin, Sama seperti Tuhan. Anda akan membenci kehidupan bekas anda sebagai orang berdosa dan tidak akan kembali kepadanya. (Baca juga: Bolehkah anda terus berdosa di bawah rahmat?)
Semasa anda cintakan Allah dengan sepenuh hati, jiwa, Fikiran, dan kekuatan anda akan suka melakukan kehendaknya.
You shall spend time with God and renew your mind with the Word of God (Alkitab) and apply His words into your life, supaya anda menjadi pelaku kata -kata Tuhan dan melakukan kerja -kerja Roh. Anda tidak perlu, Tetapi anda mahu, kerana anda telah dibuat dalam rupanya dan anda mengasihi Tuhan.
Ketika Firman dan Roh Kudus tinggal di dalam diri anda, Anda akan berjalan selepas Roh dalam ketaatan dengan Firman. Anda akan berjalan cinta, kekudusan, dan kebenaran, Melakukan kehendak Bapa dan Mengagumi dan memuliakannya.
