Whakatauki 4:10 – He maha nga tau o to koiora

He aha te whakatauki 4:10 ngākau tūtūā, Rongo, E taku tama, kia riro mai hoki aku kupu; a ka maha nga tau e ora ai koe?

Hear and receive the sayings of the Lord and the years of your life shall be many

Most people want to live long and seek ways to obtain their desire. The world tells people to exercise, eat healthy, and avoid stress in order to stay healthy and have a long life.

Maybe this advice has worked for some people, but not for all people.

image bible and proverbs 4:10 Rongo, O my son and receive my sayings and the years of thy life shall be many

He maha nga tangata, who lived healthy (they exercised, they ate healthy, and avoided stress as much as they could) but died at a young age.

And there are many people, who lived unhealthy lives (they didn’t exercise, they ate unhealthy and experienced lots of stress in their lives) and died in old age.

The Bible doesn’t confirm the words of the world but says something else.

The Word of God says to hear and receive the sayings of the Lord.

This means that you listen to the words of the Lord and believe His words and do His words. So that you become a doer of the Word. (Panuitia hoki: Nga kaikorero ki nga kaimahi).

He aha te whakatauki 4:10 ngākau tūtūā?

Rongo, E taku tama, kia riro mai hoki aku kupu; a ka maha nga tau e ora ai koe (Whakatauki 4:10)

When you listen and receive the words of the Father, and you apply His Word in your life, then the years of your life shall be many.

The Father promises you, that as long as you walk in His sayings; I roto i ana ture, e tohu ana i tana hiahia, and do not turn away from them, you will have a prosperous life. (Panuitia hoki: The commandments of God versus the commandments of Jesus).

You will not only have a prosperous life, but the years of your life shall be many. You shall have a long life and eternal life.
