Many people, including ‘Christians’ practice martial arts. Everyone has its own reason to practice martial arts, like health, physical exercise, spiritual development, behaviour, self-discipline, self-defence, military purposes etc., But where does martial arts derive from? What is the source of martial arts? Is martial arts really that innocent, as it looks? Can a Christian practice martial arts? What happens in the spiritual world, when someone practices martial arts?
History of martial arts
Martial arts derives from the latin words: arts of Mars (the Roman god of war). Although the oldest form of martial arts go all the way back to Egypt, 3400 BC. The contemporary martial arts, as we know them today, is associated with the eastern combat sports, like karate, judo, taekwondo, (Shaolin) kung-fu, (kick)boxing, thai-boxing, jiu-jitsu, aikido, savate, whing chun, muay thai, (sumo) wrestling, self-defence, hapkido, gungdo, tang-soo-do, taekkyeon, wrestling, shuai jiao, wushu, sambo etc.
When we go back to the origin of the eastern combat sports, we see that it’s derived from Hinduism, (Zen) Buddhism, Taoism (like Judo), Confucianism, and Shinto. The martial arts is developed though meditation, by yoga. Therefore, the martial arts is connected to the occult world of spirituality, and religion (Hinduism, (Zen) Buddhism, Taoism, Confucianism, and Shinto), and cannot be disconnected from the occult world.
Buddhist monks also have had a great impact on the development of martial arts. Due the fact, that temples, and monks were often robbed and they couldn’t use weapons to protect themselves, they sought another way to defend themselves. During the practice of meditation and channeling with spiritual powers and beings, that we know as demons, these evil spirits gave them wisdom, by showing them bodily combat technics and positions (for example the Shaolin order). The monks applied and practiced these combat technics, and received power and strength from these evil spirits, so that they could defend themselves and the temples.
Many great martial artists gained combat knowledge by meditation and channeling with spirits (demons).
Meditation, including breathing exercises, still plays a major role by practicing martial arts. For example, in the Japanese martial arts, meditation and emptying your mind is key, to promote the energy flow (qi) and peace through your body (like Aikido). In the Korean martial arts, like Taekwondo, mediation and breathing exercises are used to create an inner peace. In the Chinese martial arts, meditation and breathing exercises are also key. Think about qigong or kung-fu (the achievement or succes of man).
Qigong is a Chinese kinematics and means: energy (qi) cultivation (gong). It is a system, which is developed to increase the flow of the body’s life energy (qi or chi), by posture, exercises, breathing technics, and meditation. According to Taoism, Buddhism and Confucianism, qigong provides access to the higher spiritual realms of the consciousness (entering the spiritual realm out of your soul), so that the true nature of the person awakens, and the human potential is being developed.
Between 1940-1950 the martial arts came to the West. The entertainment industry had a major influence on martial arts. Because during the 70’s and 80’s the martial arts became extremely popular, through the many karate and kung-fu movies. Many people, including children, searched for gyms and dojo’s, who practiced martial arts.
What is the source of martial arts?
Martial arts derives from Hinduism, (Zen) Buddhism, Taoism, Confucianism, and Shinto. By means of mediation, and channeling with evil spirits, these evil spirits gave wisdom; bodily postures and physical combat techniques. Therefore martial arts is connected to evil spirits and the occult. The source of martial arts is the kingdom of darkness.
Due to the fact, that martial arts is connected to the kingdom of darkness, and derives from the wisdom of devils, you cannot disconnect the physical exercises and technics from the spiritual aspect.
As soon as you participate in any kind of martial arts whatsoever, you enter the domain of the devil, and evil spirits will enter your life. Because every physical technique and position, is linked to evil spirits. Without the influence of evil spirits, you cannot get power and ‘wisdom’ to practice martial arts.
The kingdom of darkness and evil spirits are the source of martial arts.
The higher the level, the more demonic power
The higher the rank and level of a person in martial arts, the more demonic power a person will possess. Look at the colors of the belts, that represent the level. The darker the color, the higher the level. It’s actually the same thing as yoga, the more techniques you possess, the more chakra’s you open, and bit by bit, you give yourself to the devil and his demons.
It’s not surprising at all, that you start with a white belt, and end with a black belt (although in some combat sports, you can develop even further after the black belt). The darker the color, the higher the level. The belt represents the spiritual state of a person.
The sensei; the grand master (teacher) is appointed as representative of the dragon and wears a black belt. His main purpose is to teach as many people as possible in the martial arts, disciple them en draw them into the kingdom of darkness. Without knowing, the pupils; the disciples of the sensei, will open themselves to demonic powers, that will enter their lives.
As the person grows, the more ‘special’ powers (s)he will experience. The person shall experience extra strength and power in certain parts of the body, s(he) will be able to make him/herself heavier, cut stones, or to manipulate and bewitch the opponent, by taking spiritual authority over the other person, and so on.
Dojo’s; the place of the way
When you look at the name of the places, where martial arts is taught, you can conclude that it has nothing to do with the Kingdom of God, but represents the kingdom of darkness. Dojo means literally the place of the way.
A dojo used to be an addition to the temples. Therefore in most dojo’s you may not enter with shoes, because it is connected with a holy place. Think about Moses, he also had to take of his shoes, before he entered the holy ground.
In many traditional dojo’s there are even Japanese cleansing rituals at the beginning and at the end of each training session. This is called sojo and derives from the Zen and Shinto philosophy.
Can a Christian practice martial arts?
As a born again believer, you have the discernment of spirits. Therefore you will be able to discern the spiritual world and the two kingdoms; the Kingdom of God and the kingdom of the devil. You shall discern, what kind of spirits are behind martial arts.
Even if the world says, that martial arts is good for your health, your body and mind.
A born again believer knows better, because s(he) knows the truth, and therefore s(he) shall never enter the territory or domain of the devil. (S)he shall never engage with evil spirits, but shall expose the works of the devil and demons instead.
And have no fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness, but rather reprove them (Eph 5:11)
Does Christian martial arts exist?
There are martial artists and martial arts actors, who have become Christians, but haven’t laid down their old life and its works. They still practice and teach martial arts, or still act in martial arts movies. They keep practicing martial arts, because it’s their profession. They’ve, together with other so-called believers, who were not willing to lay down the martial arts, brought the martial arts into church and christianised it .
They give martial arts performances and demonstrations, to get people acquainted with the Christian faith and to win people for Jesus Christ. But how can you convince people of their sins, and lead them to Jesus Christ, by the works of the flesh, and by doctrines of devils, that derive from the kingdom of darkness?
In some churches, they even provide self-defence lessons or karate lessons. They use the lie of the world, to promote health. They say it’s good for a Christian, because you have to take care of your body, which is the temple of the Holy Spirit. But here we have another twisted truth, which is no truth at all. Because the Word says:
Know ye not that ye are the temple of God, and that the Spirit of God dwelleth in you? If any man defile the temple of God, him shall God destroy; for the temple of God is holy, which temple ye are. (1 Cor 3:16-17)
And what agreement hath the temple of God with idols? for ye are the temple of the living God; as God hath said, I will dwell in them, and walk in them; and I will be their God, and they shall be my people. Wherefore come out from among them, and be ye separate, saith the Lord, and touch not the unclean thing; and I will receive you, (2 Cor 6:16-18)
The Holy Spirit cannot have communion with evil spirits
The truth is, that as soon as you practice combat technics, that are inspired by evil spirits, these evil spirits will enter your life, and eventually the Holy Spirits will leave you. Because the Holy Spirit cannot have communion with sins and evil spirits.
The Word says very clearly, that we shouldn’t pay that much attention to bodily exercise, because the body profits little. Instead, we should pay attention to godliness:
For bodily exercise profiteth little: but godliness is profitable unto all things, having promise of the life that now is, and of that which is to come (1 Ti 4:8)
It is the spirit that quickeneth; the flesh profiteth nothing: the words that I speak unto you, they are spirit, and they are life (Jn 6:63)
Martial arts has nothing to do with God, Jesus and the Holy Spirit. There is only one Master and that’s Jesus Christ. You are His disciple and you should only bow for Him.
Martial arts has everything to do with the devil and his kingdom. The devil is the author of martial arts, and he will always remain the author.
The danger of spiritual leaders, who practice martial arts
There are even pastors, preachers, elders and other spiritual leaders, who practice martial arts and preach on Sunday’s. Because of the fact, that they practice martial arts, these evil spirits of martial arts will not only enter their lives, but also the congregation.
When you listen to a preacher, have communion, or let a spiritual leader, who practice martial arts, lay hands on you, then these evil spirits will enter your life as well. During church services, manifestations can occur, that people consider to be from the Holy Spirit, but in reality are demonic manifestations, coming from the devil.
When a spiritual leader is not willing to give up his/her old life, stays carnal and keeps walking after the flesh, instead of after the Spirit, then the demonic powers in the person’s life, will also enter into the lives of the believers of the congregation.
The believers will become lukewarm (tepidity), experience spiritual resistance during prayer, and or studying the Bible, indifference to sins, worldliness, pride, irritation, aggressiveness, angriness, violent, increase of sexual uncleanness, more love for the things of the world, than the things of the Kingdom of God, restless, insomnia, depression, suicidal thoughts etc.
All of this happens, because a preacher, elder, or any other spiritual leader still loves the world, and is not willing to lay down his/her old life. Therefore the spiritual leader will remain carnal and will walk after the flesh; being focussed upon the things of the flesh.
Through a lack of spiritual knowledge, many people fall, and become victims of the dragon; the devil, who goes around seeking whom he can devour, kill and destroy.
The domain of the dragon
Martial arts belongs to the domain of the dragon, and not to the domain of Jesus Christ. Look at the dojo’s or gyms, where martial arts is taught, and look at what kind of images and symbols are hanging on the walls. In most dojo’s you will see images of the dragon, and well-known martial artists and/or philosophers, who are worshipped by the pupils. Because every person, who wants to teach martial arts, wants to become like his/her master; sensei.
Also many martial arts movies include the name of the dragon, and that’s exactly, what it represents: the domain of the dragon.
In the Bible, we also read about the dragon, which refers to the devil. Therefore the domain of the dragon is the domain of the devil. When you know the Bible, you know the truth about the devil and his mission.
The mission of the devil is to destroy, and kill, as many people as possible. He seduces people with his lies, and as soon as he controls the person, he destroys the person. Although it may seem innocent, hopeful and promising in the natural realm, they are lies, that will bring forth total destruction in the lives of man.
You will reap, what you sow
Due to the fact, that many believers practice yoga and martial arts (both derives from Hinduism and Buddhism). These evil spirits will enter the church.
We notice that the ‘self’ has become the center of attention in many churches. Everything is based upon the prosperity and material enrichment of people. We also notice an indifference towards sins, passivity for the Kingdom of God, an increase of fame, pride, sexual uncleanness etc.
This is not surprising, because the Bible says, that you will reap what you sow. Therefore if you sow in the flesh, you will reap the fruit of the flesh.
The church has been separated from the world
A born again believer; a son of God, has been separated from the world. Therefore a born again believer shouldn’t walk like the world, and engage him/herself with the same things of the world., but should separate him/herself from it. The world will always contradict the Word, they will never go together. The world says to seek yourself, but the Word instructs us, to not seek ourselves.
Let no man seek his own, but every man another’s wealth (1 Cor 10:24).
If there be therefore any consolation in Christ, if any comfort of love, if any fellowship of the Spirit, if any bowels and mercies, Fulfil ye my joy, that ye be like-minded, having the same love, being of one accord, of one mind. Let nothing be done through strife or vainglory; but in lowliness of mind let each esteem other better than themselves. Look not every man on his own things, but every man also on the things of others (Phil 4:1-4)
The believers and disciples of Jesus Christ shouldn’t focus on the things, which are on this earth, but focus upon the things, which are above, where Christ is seated.
If ye then be risen with Christ, seek those things which are above, where Christ sitteth on the right hand of God. Set your affection on things above, not on things on the earth. For ye are dead, and your life is hid with Christ in God (Col 3:1-3)
Walk after the Spirit and not after the flesh
The Bible instructs us, that we shouldn’t pay attention to the flesh, but to the Spirit.
A healthy lifestyle and sports is a tactic, the devil uses to seduce many believers and draw them to his domain. Many believers go to gyms, or dojo’s, to do practice kick-boxing, karate, judo, qigong or some other kind of martial arts, because this should profit your health; body, mind, (mental) balance, strength etc. But this is one big lie!
As soon as you engage with one of these combat sports, you shall be focussed upon your body; your flesh, which you have laid down and buried, when you were baptised. As mentioned before, one of the first traits, that will become visible in your life, will be irritation, angriness, aggressiveness, intolerance, pride, megalomania and sexual uncleanness.
Children are drawn into the darkness
There are even many schools, that encourage children, who are shy, timid, or unmanageable, to take judo lessons. So that they learn to stand up for themselves, defend themselves, improve confidence, self-esteem, discipline and respect. But did you know, that judo means soft way, and is originated in Japan, out of Taoism, the way of life.
Every technique and move originate and is connected to Taoism; doctrine of evil demonic spirits. You cannot disconnect judo from Taoism.
Many secondary schools provide self-defence lessons during gym hours. The world says, that it’s good for the young adult to learn to defend him/herself. But if that’s the case, then why do so many kidnappings, rapes etc. take place.
When someone approaches you with a weapon, do you think that it will time to show your self-defence moves?
Besides that, the Bible nowhere instructs us or promote us, to defend ourselves. Look at Jesus His life, where did He defend Himself? Or with whom did He went into battle, when He was banned from the synagogue or when He was captured?
Jesus didn’t even resist, when He was taken captive. When Peter cut of the ear of the servant of the high priest, Jesus didn’t say: “Well done Peter, that’s really good of you!” No! Jesus healed the ear of the servant and did good.
God wants to take care of His children en protect them. God is our Protector and no one else.
Remainders of old life are taken into church
The problem is, that in today’s world, many believers don’t lay down their old life, and don’t put off the old man. They take the remainders of their (occult) old life into the church, and therefore the church is being affected by occult powers. Unfortunately there are not many spiritual leaders, who are able to discern these evil demonic spirits and throw them out of the church, before they will affect the lives of other members of the church.
The spirit of Hinduism, Buddhism and new age have already entered the church, and are active among believers. Look at church services and the volume of the music, and the many repetitions of the chorus and certain sentences. By using melodies and the repetition of words, people are getting in some kind of trance. We see a lot of spiritual and emotional manifestations, the ‘self’ has become the center of the church service, and emptying yourself and enlightenment is being promoted etc.
But when you decide to follow Jesus, it means that you have to give up your own life, and follow Him.
Are you willing to give up your life for Jesus Christ?
You have been transferred from the kingdom of darkness into the Kingdom of God. This means, that you shall no longer do, and engage yourself with the works of the kingdom of darkness, but you shall listen to God, and shall live according to His Word, and His commandments.
They think they are free, but in reality they are still a slave to the devil and to sin.
When we look at those, who practiced magical arts, in the book of Acts, we read that they knew very well, what it meant to follow Jesus and to give up their old life with their occult practices. Yes, they gave up their profession and income, for Jesus Christ.
They not only confessed Jesus as their Lord, but they also acted according to their confessions. They burned their books, from which they gained all their worldly knowledge and magician power.
And many that believed came, and confessed, and shewed their deeds. Many of them also which used curious arts brought their books together, and burned them before all men: and they counted the price of them, and found it fifty thousand pieces of silver. So mightily grew the word of God and prevailed (Act 19:18-20)
If you practice martial arts, are you willing to give it up for Jesus? Or do you love martial arts and its power and the respect you get, more than you love Jesus? Do you use the lies of the devil to Christianise martial arts and make it ok?
