Kungani umphefumulo wolungileyo ungalambi

EBhayibhelini kuZaga 10:3, we read that the Lord will not suffer the soul of the righteous to famish. What does it mean that the soul of the righteous shall not hunger

The soul of the righteous shall not hunger

The Lord will not suffer the soul of the righteous to famish (indlala): but He casts away the substance of the wicked (Izaga 10:3)

As long as the righteous walk in the will of the Lord, umphefumulo wolungileyo awuyikulamba. In most Bible translations, the word ‘soul’ has been left out. In these translations, lokhu okulandelayo kulotshiwe: ‘The Lord will not allow the righteous to hunger'. But if you read it that way, then most believers will think that it means, that the Lord will provide food for the body.

We all know that God is UJehova uthukuthele; the Lord that provides. He will always provide for the spirit, umphefumulo, kanye nomzimba. But you have to be careful that the provisions and assets of life will not become the main purpose in your life.

Do not worry about your life

UJesu uthi, that you shouldn’t be worried about your life. You shouldn’t worry about what you will eat, or drink, nor about your body, to what you will wear. Ngoba uJesu uthi, that the gentiles; labo abaphila ngaphandle kukaNkulunkulu, seek all these things.

The life of the wicked revolves around material things, being successful, nokuchuma. They are carnal and therefore they are ruled by their flesh; ukuhaha, inkanuko, kanye nezifiso. Because of the fact that they are carnal and feed their soul from their flesh, they will never be satisfied.

They sow in their flesh and therefore they will also reap the fruit of the flesh. Which will result in the fact, that their lusts, ukuhaha, and cravings will only increase. The Lord despises this way of living, and therefore He casts away the substance of the wicked.

Funa kuqala uMbuso kaNkulunkulu nokulunga kwakhe

UJesu uthi, that you shouldn’t be worried about a thing. Kodwa….there is something you have to do first, Futhi lokho:

Seek ye first the kingdom of God, nokulunga Kwakhe; futhi zonke lezi zinto ziyakwenezelwa nina (Mathewu 6:33)

The entrance to the Father, and to His Kingdom is through Jesus Christ. When you come to Him and believe in Him, your soul shall no longer hunger, or thirst, because Jesus is the Bread of life (UJohane 6:35)

When you find the Kingdom of God, by His grace, ngoJesu Kristu, and when youazalwe kabusha emoyeni, you shall belong to the Kingdom of God. The next step is to seek His righteousness. This means to get to know His will, so that you will walk in His will; doing His will instead of yours.

You have been made holy and righteous by the blood of Jesus. Because you have been made holy and righteous, kufanele futhi uhambe ngobungcwele nokulunga.

The righteous shall not hunger

Lapho uthatha amazwi Akhe, you shall feed your spirit. Ngegama, nizokwazi intando Yakhe, and shall learn how to walk.

Uma ningithanda gcinani imiyalo Yami, indlala

Uma uwalk after His will, you shall automatically walk in His commandments, ebungcweleni nasekulungeni. Uma u thanda uNkulunkulu ngaphezu kwakho konke, like you say you do, you shall please Him by Ukugcina Imiyalo Yakhe. You shall apply His words to your life. Your actions prove if you really love Him or not.

Uma ungithanda Mina, gcina imiyalo Yami (UJohane 14:15)

As long as you seek those things which are above, instead of seeking the things of this world, and feed yourself with the Word of God, and do what the Word tells you to do, then your soul will not hunger.

As long as you do the intando kaJesu, okuyintando kaBaba futhi, in your life and do His work, your soul will not hunger.

In the mean while his disciples prayed Him, ethi, Nqoba, dla. But He said unto them, I have meat to eat that ye know not of. Therefore said the disciples one to another, Hath any man brought him ought to eat? UJesu wathi kubo, My meat is to do the will of Him that sent Me, and to finish His work (UJohane 4:31-35)

Lapho ukhona Ikholwa elizelwe ngokusha your spirit shall not hunger anymore. Your spirit shall reign in your life and your soul shall be controlled by the spirit, instead of the flesh. The soul shall be satisfied and filled because the Lord shall not permit that the soul of the righteous shall hunger.
