For that they hated knowledge, and did not choose the fear of the Lord: They would none of my counsel: they despised all my reproof. Therefore shall they eat of the fruit of their own way, and be filled with their own devices. For the turning away of the simple shall slay them, and the prosperity of fools shall destroy them (Proverbs 1:29-32)
What happens when people hate knowledge?
Why does the Lord not answer and will He not be found, when destruction comes and people, who knew Him not, will call upon Him? Why will He not answer them? Because during their lives, they’ve hated His knowledge and His wisdom. They’ve hated the Word of the Lord and didn’t fear the Lord. During their lives, they wouldn’t listen to His counsel and they despised His reproof.
They wanted to live their own lives without God and doing whatever pleased them. They enjoyed everything that the world had to offer.
You will eat the fruit of your way
When you hate knowledge and turn away from the Lord, and live your own life, instead of listening and obeying Him and fear Him, you will eat the fruit of your own way. You will be filled with your own devices.
When you live after the flesh, you will sow in the flesh, and reap corruption and eventually death.
A simple, man who has chosen to turn away from God shall be slain. Because he has chosen to listen to the world, and to all the lies of the devil, instead of listening to the Word; the Truth.
The love of money and the prosperity of the world, will draw many people away from the true gospel of Jesus Christ and the Kingdom of God.
A fool, who lives without God and has chosen to live for the world, may have a prosperous life. But eventually the fool shall be destroyed by his prosperity.
