Why you should not walk in envy?

Envy thou not the oppressor, and choose none of his ways. For the froward is abomination to the Lord: but his secret is with the righteous (Proverbs 3:31-32)

The oppressor is a man of violence, of unjust gain; an unrighteous man, who walks on the path of unrighteousness. In these times there is much envy among people. People look at each other, and are often jealous and envious at each other. Many look at people, who are successful and wealthy. People, who live in big mansions, driving expensive cars, and many envy them.

strait gate, narrow way, broad way, foolishnessThey think that happiness depends upon money and wealth, and that’s why many people’s lives are focussed on other people’s life, money and wealth. Because of that many people choose, and follow the path of the world; the path of the unrighteous.

But the Lord doesn’t want you to choose the way of the oppressor. He doesn’t want you to go that way. He knows where this road will lead you to, namely eternal death.

The way of the unrighteous is an abomination to the Lord. He despises the deeds of the sinners.

The Lord wants you to go His way. But you can only go His way, when you have laid down and crucified your flesh, and died to this world.

When you go His way, then you shall walk in righteousness and holiness. He shall be with you, and reveal Himself to you, and have communion with you, through His Word. He shall enlighten the eyes of your understanding, through His Word.

So don’t be blinded by money, fortune, and wealth. Let them not become your focus in life. Don’t envy the oppressor and don’t enter his way. But choose the way of the Lord, because His way will lead you to eternal life.
