The law was the school teacher for the old man
But before faith came, we were kept under the law, shut up unto the faith which should afterwards be revealed. Wherefore the law was our schoolmaster to bring us unto Christ, that we might be justified by faith. But after that faith is come, we are no longer under a schoolmaster. The law and all the commandments of God, which are written in the Torah were a schoolmaster for the old man. So that the old man, who is sense-ruled and lives after the flesh, would know the will of God and His way and by keeping the law, man would serve God and walk in righteousness.

Why do Christians go back to the Old Covenant?
