Many people suffer from physical or mental illness and look for healing. But many times, people look in the wrong places. One of these places is a Reiki practice. Reiki therapy seems beneficial and harmless, but is that true? Is Reiki healing really harmless? Is it safe to practice Reiki or is Reiki dangerous and harmful? If so what are the dangers of Reiki and the negative effects of Reiki? What is Reiki healing and how does Reiki work? What is the origin of Reiki therapy? Can Christians practice Reiki healing or can a Christian go to a Reiki therapist or not? What’s the spiritual danger of Reiki healing that many people, kabilang ang mga Kristiyano, are not aware of?
What does the word Reiki mean?
Reiki derives from two Japanese words: ‘Rei’, which means ‘spirit’ or ‘soul’ and ‘Ki’, which means life energy or power. Reiki means spiritual energy. The western translation of Reiki is universal life energy or ‘the life’.
What is Reiki and how does Reiki work?
Reiki is an alternative therapy, whereby through the laying on of hands, a transfer of energy takes place. The Reiki therapist is a mediator and transfers universal life energy (cosmic energy or spiritual energy) to the patient. This energy should restore the harmony in the body of the patient and quicken the natural healing process (mentally and physically). Any blockage in the energy streams of the body, caused by traumatic or negative experiences in the past, will dissolve through the laying on of hands.
There is no need for a medical diagnosis of the problem. That’s because the energy finds its way by itself, through the body and spirit of the patient (although they call it spirit, it is, in reality, ang kaluluwa).
Because of the fact that a Reiki therapist doesn’t use his or her own energy, but universal energy, any mental illnesses (tensions, depresyon, atbp.) or physical diseases from the Reiki therapist are not transferred to the patient.
Not only by the laying on of hands is the life energy transferred, but the life energy is also transferred from a distance. Because the energy that the Reiki therapist uses is present everywhere. Reiki therapists consider this energy (kapangyarihan) as the fundament of the world.
What is the history of Reiki?
The Japanese Buddhist Mikao Usui (1865-1926) developed Reiki. Mikao Usui developed a system as a way to happiness, pagkakaisa, and spiritual development. Through fasting and meditation, his system took on a more concrete form, and through teachings, Mikao Usui passed it on to others.
After WOII, Reiki came to the western world.
What are the three levels of Reiki?
There are 3 levels of Reiki. At each level, the students teache new techniques, so that the energy becomes more powerful and more intense
- During the first grade (Shoden) the student will learn the basics of Reiki, the principles, and chakras. The student receives four initiations, through which the student transfers universal energy and through which the channel is activated. During the first grade, the student teaches different forms of hand positions.
- During the second grade (Okuden), three symbols are activated. The student will learn to use symbols, which will expand the opening of the energy channels. The student also learns to apply Reiki from a distance, and transfer energy through the mind to a person.
- During the third grade (Shinpiden), which is divided into part A and B, the student teaches more symbols and mantra’s, which belongs to the symbols. If a student passes part A, the student becomes an aspirant master (the student has the master energy, but without the symbols which give the authority to teach Reiki to others). If a student passes part B, the student becomes a Reiki master and will receive the symbols that allow the student to teach Reiki to others and initiate them.
What are the Reiki symbols?
Reiki symbols originate from Tantrism, Buddhism, and Gi-Gong. By using these symbols it is possible to send energy and to initiate processes. Reiki symbols are used to evoke energy. The Reiki therapist makes a connection by using these symbols. Halimbawa, a Reiki therapist uses the mantra ‘hon-sha-ze-sho-nen’, which means:

Reiki techniques are used to build bridges
By applying Reiki technics, you can build bridges to the past, over a distance to other persons, and to the future.
- Reiki builds bridges to the past
If a patient has suffered a traumatic experience during childhood or adolescence, the therapist can use Reiki techniques to connect to another time period. The Reiki therapist goes back with the patient to the moment of the traumatic experience, and the patient re-lives it. But now the patient makes another decision. Dahil dun, the outcome will be different. - Reiki builds bridges from a distance to other persons
How do you build a bridge (connection) from a distance to another person? By saying out loud the name of the person 3 times and why you want to connect to this person. Then you will say the symbols and think about the person for 20-30 minuto. - Reiki builds bridges to the future
Reiki techniques can be used to build a bridge to the future. You are not able to change the future, but you are able to change the way that you will go into the future and change that. You can ‘purify’ the future.
What is Reiki massage therapy?
When a patient has physical problems, the Reiki therapist can also use Reikimassage therapy. Through Reiki massage therapy, the Reiki therapist tries to dissolve the blockages. By using Reiki massage therapy, the accumulated energy at a certain place will be spread.
What are the different forms of Reiki?
There are many different forms of Reiki, like for example Usui Reiki, Usui Reiki Ryoho, Usui Teate, Essential Reiki, Angel Reiki, Lightarian Reiki, Kundalini Reiki, Holy Fire Reiki, Seichem, Tera-Mai, Keltische Reiki, Tummo Reiki, Jikiden Reiki, Shambhala Reiki, and Angels energy.
Reiki and chakra healing
The hand positions of Reiki on the body, cover and treat all the main chakras in the human body.
Ang 7 chakras in the body are connected with the organs and the different layers in the aura. The chakras take energy and transfer it via channels through the body
The chakras are therefore responsible for activating bodily functions, like breathing, walking, speaking, atbp.

Reiki therapy vs the Word of God
Now that you know what Reiki healing is and where Reiki comes from, let’s look at Reiki and what the Word of God says about Reiki.
Reiki and the creation
Reiki therapy originates from Buddhism. Buddhism says, there is no God, Buddhism doesn’t believe in God, but in universal energy. The whole universe and all there is within is created out of this energy.
What does the Bible say about creation?
Diyos (El-Elohim) is the Creator of heaven and earth and all there is within. Everything is created through the Word (Hesus, the Son) sa pamamagitan ng kapangyarihan ng Banal na Espiritu. God spoke the Word, and by His power, it came into existence (Basahin din: Did God create the heaven and earth in six days or…?).
In the beginning, El-Elohim (Plural God; Diyos, Hesus, ang Espiritu Santo) created the heaven and the earth (Genesis 1:1)
Let them praise the Name of the Lord Jehovah: for He commanded, and they were created (Mga Awit 148:5)
To whom then will ye liken Me, or shall I be equal? saith the Holy One. Lift up your eyes on high, and behold who hath created these things, that bringeth out their host by number: He called them all by names by the greatness of His might, for that He is strong in power; not one fails (Isaiah 40:25-26)
Thus saith God the Lord, He that created the heavens, and stretched them out; He that spread forth the earth, and that which cometh out of it; He that gives breath unto the people upon it, and spirit to them that walk therein (Isaiah 42:5)
I have made the earth, and created man upon it: I, even My hands, have stretched out the heavens, and all their host have I commanded (Isaiah 45:12)
God Himself that formed the earth and made it
For thus saith the Lord that created the heavens; God Himself that formed the earth and made it; He hath established it, He created it not in vain, He formed it to be inhabited: I am the Lord; and there is none else (Isaiah 45:18)
Diyos, who created all things by Jesus Christ (Mga Taga-Efeso 3:9)

The two spiritual kingdoms in the universe
There are two spiritual kingdoms in the whole universe:
- The kingdom of God
- The kingdom of the devil
Every person on this earth belongs to one of these spiritual kingdoms. There are no more choices and there will never be more choices.
It is impossible to belong to both kingdoms, it is either one or the other.
Is Reiki healing founded on the Bible; ang Salita ng Diyos?
Sa Bibliya; ang Salita ng Diyos, we read that the heavens and the earth, and all there is within, has been created by God, El-Elohim (Jehovah-God, ang salita; Hesus, the power; ang Espiritu Santo). Nothing has been created outside of the Word.
Reiki healing doesn’t originate from the Word; Panginoong Hesukristo, nor is Reiki healing founded on the Bible; ang Salita ng Diyos. But Reiki healing has its origin in Buddhism, the teachings of Buddha, a human being.
Reiki is a philosophy and doctrine of carnal man and Reiki belongs to the kingdom of the devil and not to the Kingdom of God.
Has not God made foolish the wisdom of this world? For after that in the wisdom of God the world by wisdom knew not God, it pleased God by the foolishness of preaching to save them that believe (1 Mga taga-Corinto 1:20,21)
For the wisdom of this world is foolishness with God. For it is written, He takes the wise in their own craftiness (1 Mga taga-Corinto 3:19)
Where does Reiki get its energy and power
from?
Both the Kingdom of God and the kingdom of darkness have power and might. When you don’t get your power out of one kingdom, you automatically get your power out of the other kingdom.
A Reiki practitioner doesn’t act in the Name of Jesus, but a Reiki practitioner acts by itself, by applying Reiki technics, and opening up for energy; universal power. This energy that is generated does not derive from the Holy Spirit. Reiki energy doesn’t come from God and Reiki energy is not the power of the Holy Spirit. But Reiki energy comes from the devil and the power of his kingdom.
Only born-again Christians, who are born of water and Spirit and belong to God possess the Holy Spirit and operate in His power (Basahin din: Paano maipanganak muli ang isang tao?).
A person, who is not born again, acts out of his own soul power that is empowered by the devil and his kingdom. The person moves in the spiritual realm in its own power; soul power. This can be very dangerous. Because if you enter the spiritual realm out of your soul power then you open the door for demonic spirits to enter your life.
These demonic spirits take possession of you (kaluluwa at katawan) and manifest themselves. They possess you completely and rule your life. (Basahin din: Ano ang dalawang paraan upang makapasok sa espirituwal na kaharian?).
The energy must come from somewhere. Itt is either out of the Kingdom of God (power of the Holy Spirit) or out of the kingdom of the devil (power of demons (evil spirits)).
What is the danger of Reiki for therapists?
The danger of Reiki for Reiki therapists is that they empty themselves and open up their channels for evil spirits to enter their lives. They receive power and energy, which originates from the kingdom of darkness. This energy and power don’t bring forth healing and life. But this energy and power bring forth destruction, illnesses, sakit, and death.
Reiki therapists don’t see the danger of Reiki, but consider Reiki harmless. They think that they tap into the universal life energy. But what they don’t know is that in reality, the practice of reiki opens the door for demonic spirits. The devil gives them power and energy and in return, he demands sacrifices from the person.
What you will see in the life of a Reiki therapist is, in the beginning the Reiki practitioner is successful and sees positive results in the lives of the patients. Pero pagkaraan ng ilang sandali, things change.
The Reiki therapist can become very tired, moody, easily irritated, unhappy, depressed, experiences anxieties, become ill, may sakit, get involved in sexual uncleanness, and commit adultery, or his/her marriage will go down the hill and ends in a diborsyo.
The devil shall give more power to the Reiki therapist. But eventually, the Reiki therapist will have to pay the price for his power. When a person opens himself or herself for the power of the devil, it won’t be without consequences and without danger.
What is the danger of Reiki for patients?
There are many patients, who are ignorant and don’t see the danger of Reiki either. They don’t realize that during the laying on of hands, a spiritual transmission takes place, and demonic forces are transferred and enter their lives. After their treatment, they are under control of the kingdom of darkness, whether they want to or not.
The danger of Reiki is that when you visit a Reiki therapist, you will enter the territory of the devil. When you enter the territory of the devil, it will not be without danger.
Not only is your body and soul dedicated to the devil, through the laying on of hands and by certain rituals, but you will also experience these dark evil forces in your life.
What are the dangers of Reiki and the negative side effects of Reiki?
You shall become possessed with these demonic forces, which will manifest in serious (incurable) mga sakit, tiredness, depressions, moodiness, mga takot, mga pagkabalisa, galit, sekswal na karumihan, atbp. (These are the same things, which the Reiki therapist will experience).
The devil is an imitator of God
The devil always tries to imitate God. What God does, the devil will also do. sabi ni Hesus, that when a person is born again of water and Spirit, the person belongs to the Kingdom of God. The Holy Spirit will dwell in the born-again believers and they shall lay hands on the sick and they shall recover (marka 16:18).
Ngayon, the devil copied this for his own kingdom and for his followers.
The Christians; the followers of Jesus, lay hands in the Name of Jesus (in His authority) upon the sick and they shall recover. They can’t lay hands on the sick in their own authority and out of their flesh, their soul power.
The devil knows the power of laying on of hands and that it is a Biblical principle. But he uses this principle for his own purpose and his own kingdom. He twists the truth into a lie.
By using visions, the devil has inspired a man (Mikao Usui) and instructed him, by using satanic symbols, to open himself for the so-called universal life energy, which is nothing more than demonic energy, and to transfer this energy through the laying on of hands to every given individual. These individuals will also receive this demonic energy, and therefore open themselves for demonic forces. Through the laying on of hands many people are taken captive by the darkness; by the devil and he will not let go easily.
Do Christian Reiki therapists exist?
Do Christian Reiki therapists exist? Hindi! Should Christians practice Reiki? Hindi! When you say that you are a born-again Christian and practice Reiki, then you are nothing more than a ‘name Christian’, and therefore you are no real Christian. Because there are no ‘name Christians’ in the Kingdom of God, only sons of God; born again believers.
A born-again Christian has discernment of spirits. Therefore a born-again believer would recognize the evil spirits and see the spiritual danger of Reiki.
The truth is that you belong to the kingdom of the devil. You work in his kingdom and use his power and technics and methods. You work with the doctrines and strategies that come from Buddhism, which belongs to the kingdom of the devil and has nothing in common with the Kingdom of God.
Some people, who call themselves Christian Reiki therapists say that Reiki energy is the Holy Spirit. But the Holy Spirit is not a life energy, but the Holy Spirit is a Person. The Holy Spirit is the third Person of the Godhead (Diyos Ama, God the Son, God the Holy Spirit). As written before, Reiki energy doesn’t come from God (Basahin din: Ang Espiritu Santo laban sa espiritu ng bagong panahon, which spirit do you have?).
Born again Christians work in the Name of Jesus Christ and by the power of the Holy Spirit, they don’t need carnal symbols, principles, technics, methods or strategies, to generate this universal life energy.
Should Christians go to a Reiki therapist?
Is Reiki for Christians and should Christians go to a Reiki therapist? Hindi! Because born again Christians are bought with the blood of Jesus Christ and belong to Him. If you are a born-again Christian, then you don’t belong to yourself anymore, but you belong to God. God is your Jehovah-Rapha; He is your Healer (Basahin din: Jehovah-Rapha or doctors?).
Reiki is occult and has nothing in common with the Word of God.
Christians shouldn’t go to a Reiki therapist. sa halip, Christians should have faith in the Word of God and hold on to the Word of God. They should believe and stand on the Word, no matter what.
What does the Bible say about Reiki?
Instead of getting involved with the darkness and doing the works of darkness, Christians should be uncovering the evil works of darkness (Basahin din: When Jesus comes, shall He find faith on the earth?).
And have no fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness, but rather reprove them. For it is a shame even to speak of those things which are done of them in secret. But all things that are reproved are made manifest by the light: for whatsoever doth make manifest is light (Mga Taga-Efeso 5:11-13)
Through a lack of knowledge of God’s Word and through a lack of knowledge of the Kingdom of God and the spiritual realm, many Christians are deceived and walk into the trap of the devil, which will cause them to fall and eventually be destroyed.
Many Christians are nothing more than name Christians. They say they believe and go to church, but their works and their walk contradict their sayings.
They are not born again and don’t bear the fruit of the Spirit. But they live like the world and bear the same fruit as the world.
Many Christians think the espirituwal na kaharian exaggerated and consider speaking in tongues and the laying on of hands as foolish. While they do believe in Reiki healing and practice Reiki (and lay hands on them to get healed through occult energy), and do yoga pagninilay, pag-iisip, and make strange sounds and place buddha statues into their homes. Without knowing they open themselves up for the devil and demonic forces to enter their lives (Basahin din: Ano ang panganib ng mga buddha statues?).
Maraming simbahan use Reiki methods
Sa kasamaang palad, many churches don’t see the spiritual danger of Reiki. Samakatuwid, they not only usepsychological methods to help and heal people, but they also apply Reiki methods. Instead of relying on the authority of Jesus Christ and the power of the Holy Spirit, they rely on human methods and technics (Basahin din: A technical faith).
An example is the Reiki method of building bridges. A person goes back in the mind to the moment of a traumatic or negative experience and makes another decision. That way, the negative or traumatic experience is solved.
Many churches have applied this method. The only difference is, that the church adds Jesus.
They go back in their mind to the moment of the traumatic experience and imagine Jesus being there. They give it to Jesus and that way they solve the problem.
But these are lies of the devil! Jesus doesn’t have to go back with you to the past. Because the Bible says, that you are in Christ a new creation. Kapag naging born again ka, the old things (your past), have passed away, and all things have become new (Basahin din: Ang ikawalong araw, ang araw ng bagong paglikha).
sabi ni Hesus, if you can’t forget past and let go of the past, hindi mo kaya Sundan siya.
No man, having put his hand to the plough, and looking back, is fit for the kingdom of God (Luke 9:62)
The problem of many Christians is, they’re not willing to let go of their past. They refuse to lay down their old life (ang matandang lalaki). They carry heavy burdens from the past, and are slaves of the past. While Jesus wants to give them a new life (Basahin din: Are you a slave of the past?).
What does Jesus say about the universal life energy; buhay?
The universal life energy is called the life’ What does Jesus say about life? Ang sabi ng Salita:
Sa pasimula ay ang Salita, at ang Salita ay kasama ng Diyos, at ang Salita ay Diyos. Gayon din sa pasimula kasama ng Diyos. All things were made by Him; and without Him was not any thing made that was made. In Him was life; at ang buhay ay siyang ilaw ng mga tao. At ang liwanag ay kumikinang sa dilim; at hindi ito naunawaan ng kadiliman (John 1:1-5)
Sapagkat gayon na lamang ang pag-ibig ng Diyos sa sanlibutan, na ibinigay Niya ang Kanyang bugtong na Anak, upang ang sinumang sumampalataya sa Kanya ay hindi mapahamak, ngunit magkaroon ng buhay na walang hanggan (John 3:16)
He that believes on the Son hath everlasting life: and he that believes not the Son shall not see life; but the wrath of God abides on him (John 3:36)
“For as the Father has life in Himself; so hath He given to the Son to have life in Himself”
Katotohanan, sa totoo lang, sinasabi ko sa iyo, Siya na nakikinig sa Aking salita, at sumasampalataya sa Kaniya na nagsugo sa Akin, hath everlasting life, at hindi darating sa kahatulan; ngunit lumipat mula sa kamatayan tungo sa buhay (John 5:24)
For as the Father has life in Himself; so hath He given to the Son to have life in Himself (John 5:26)
For the bread of God is He which cometh down from heaven, at nagbibigay buhay sa mundo. And Jesus said unto them, I am the Bread of life: ang lumalapit sa Akin ay hindi magugutom kailanman; at ang sumasampalataya sa Akin ay hindi na mauuhaw kailanman (John 6:33, 35)
Katotohanan, sa totoo lang, sinasabi ko sa iyo, He that believes on Me hath everlasting life (John 6:47)

Ang espiritu ang bumubuhay; walang pakinabang ang laman: ang mga salitang sinasabi ko sa iyo, sila ay espiritu, at sila ay buhay (John 6:63)
Jesus said unto her, I am the resurrection, and the life: he that believes in Me, though he were dead, yet shall he live: And whosoever liveth and believes in Me shall never die. Believe thou this? (John 11:25-26)
I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man comes unto the Father, ngunit sa pamamagitan Ko (John 14:6)
Jesus is the life and without Him, a person is spiritual death. Samakatuwid, when a person, who is spiritual death, dies, (the person shall enter eternal death (Basahin din: Iisa lang ba ang daan patungo sa buhay na walang hanggan?).
The power of God
The only energy which is spoken of in the Word is the power of the Holy Spirit. Everything is created by His power. Without the power of the Holy Spirit, nothing comes into existence. Diyos, Hesus; ang salita, and the Holy Spirit are the Trinity Godhead. They always work together.
All signs, mga himala, at mga kababalaghan, that Jesus did during His walk upon the earth, were done in the Name of God and the power of the Holy Spirit. The new creations; ang mga anak ng Diyos (naaangkop ito sa kapwa lalaki at babae), should walk as Jesus walked in obedience to the Father with signs, and wonders following them. They walk in the Name of Jesus Christ and the power of the Holy Spirit.
And Jesus returned in the power of the Spirit into Galilee (Luke 4:14)
At lahat sila ay namangha, and spake among themselves, kasabihan, What a word is this! for with authority and power He commandeth the unclean spirits, and they come out (Luke 4:36)
The power of the Kingdom of God
Jesus speaks about the power of the Kingdom of God. Several scriptures about the power of the Kingdom of God are:
For Thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever (Mateo 6:13)
You do err, not knowing the scriptures, nor the power of God (Mateo 22:29, marka 12:24)
Katotohanang sinasabi ko sa iyo, That there be some of them that stand here, which shall not taste of death, till they have seen the kingdom of God come with power (marka 9:1)
The Holy Ghost shall come upon you, and the power of the Highest shall overshadow you (Luke 1:35)
Jesus gave authority and power to His disciples
Masdan, I give unto you power to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy: and nothing shall by any means hurt you (Luke 10:19)
Jesus promised His disciples power, by the coming of the Holy Spirit:
But you shall receive power, pagkatapos na ang Espiritu Santo ay dumating sa iyo (Mga Gawa 1:8)
We can conclude, from the Bible, that everything has its existence in El-Elohim (Jehovah God, Hesus; the Word and the Holy Spirit). Jesus Christ has the highest authority in the heavens and on earth. All power has been given to Jesus Christ.
Gayunpaman, each person decides in which power to walk in; the power of God or the power of the devil.
