Há tantas histórias na Bíblia sobre o assunto da espera. Eu poderia ter escrito muitos mais posts sobre esse assunto, mas eu não vou. I will write just two more blog posts about the subject of waiting, nomeadamente: Waiting for the promise of the Messiah and waiting for the promise of the return of the Messiah (which is still to come). The most important promise of God to man was the promise of the coming of the Messiah: Jesus Cristo.
God’s first promise of the Messiah
I will put enmity between thee and the woman, e entre a tua semente e a sua semente; isso machucará sua cabeça, e tu lhe ferirás o calcanhar (Gênese 3:15)
Depois que o homem pecou, by disobeying God, man became separated from God, God had already a new plan to redeem man from evil, and reunite them back to Him. Because all He wanted, was to have a relationship with man.
God had already created a plan, to take the authority from the devil and give it back to man. The devil had taken it wrongfully, but God would take it back in a legal manner.
The first time that God spoke about the promise of the Messiah is in Genesis 3. He spoke about the One, that would deliver the people out of satan’s hand and bring them back to God.
O Único, Who would take the keys of authority do diabo, and would reign together with man. O Messias, of Whom God spoke, was Jesus.
After God told the serpent (o diabo) que a semente da mulher machucaria sua cabeça, the serpent tried everything he could, to prevent this from happening. He tried to destroy the seed of the woman (I will write about this in the near future), but he did not succeed.
A vinda do Messias
Did the Messiah come right away? Não, it took more than 2000 years before the promise of God; the coming of the Messiah came to pass. But despite the fact, that it took more than 2000 anos, Deus cumpriu Sua promessa.
At the perfect time, the Messiah came. All the prophecies regarding the birth, vida, morte, and resurrection of the Messiah, have ALL come to pass.
Por causa do fato, that all the prophecies came to pass, and are still coming to pass regarding the end of times and the return of the Messiah, provas, que o Word of God is reliable, and is the Truth.
The birth of Jesus Christ
Em Isaías 7:14 we read the prophecy about the birth of Christ: Portanto o mesmo Senhor vos dará um sinal; Contemplar, uma virgem conceberá, e ter um filho, e chamará o seu nome Emanuel.
The life of Jesus
Many prophets wrote about the life of Jesus, ou seja. the prophet Isaiah:
Contemplar, o Senhor Deus virá com mão forte, and his arm shall rule for him: contemplar, his reward is with him, and his work before him. He shall feed his flock like a shepherd: he shall gather the lambs with his arm, and carry them in his bosom, e conduzirá gentilmente aqueles que estão com os jovens (Isaías 40:10-11).
(I would like to encourage you to study Ezekiel chapter 34 e 37 as well)
But ofcourse, there are many more scriptures about Jesus Christ, o Messias. The whole Word testifies about Jesus, o Filho de Deus.
The death of Jesus
In the Book Isaiah, we read about His death:
Certamente Ele suportou nossas dores, e carregamos nossas tristezas: contudo, nós o reputamos como ferido, ferido de Deus, e aflito. Mas Ele foi ferido por nossas transgressões, Ele foi moído por nossas iniqüidades: o castigo da nossa paz estava sobre Ele; e com Suas pisaduras somos curados. Todos nós, como ovelhas, nos desviamos; nós transformamos cada um em seu próprio caminho; e o Senhor fez cair sobre Ele a iniqüidade de todos nós. Ele foi oprimido, e Ele foi afligido, ainda assim Ele não abriu a boca: Ele é levado como um cordeiro ao matadouro, e como uma ovelha diante de seus tosquiadores fica muda, então Ele não abre a boca.
Ele foi tirado da prisão e do julgamento: e quem declarará a sua geração? For He was cut off out of the land of the living: pela transgressão do Meu povo Ele foi ferido. E Ele fez Sua sepultura com os ímpios, and with the rich in his death; porque Ele não cometeu nenhuma violência, nem houve engano em sua boca. No entanto, agradou ao Senhor machucá-lo; Ele o fez sofrer: quando fizeres da Sua alma uma oferta pelo pecado, Ele verá Sua semente, He shall prolong his days, and the pleasure of the Lord shall prosper in his hand. Portanto, eu lhe dividirei uma porção com os grandes, e Ele repartirá o despojo com os fortes; because He hath poured out his soul unto death: e foi contado com os transgressores; e Ele carregou o pecado de muitos, e fez intercessão pelos transgressores (Isaías 53:4-12)
Nos Salmos 22, we read about the crucifixion of Jesus, and what He endured during the crucifixion.
Jesus confirmed, what the prophets wrote about the Messiah and said:
I am the good Shepherd: the good Shepherd giveth His life for the sheep (John 10:11).
The resurrection of Jesus
For thou wilt not leave my soul in hell; neither wilt thou suffer thine Holy One to see corruption (Salmo 16:10)
Not only in Psalm 16:10, we read about His resurrection, Jesus also confirmed His resurrection to the people, em Mateus 12:40:
Pois assim como Jonas esteve três dias e três noites no ventre da baleia; assim estará o Filho do homem três dias e três noites no seio da terra.
There are many more Scriptures about the birth, vida, death and resurrection of Jesus (sobre 44 Scriptures), but I won’t overload you with all 44 Scriptures. You can look them up and study them for yourself.
We can read about the promise of the Messiah and the fulfilment, throughout the Bible. God never forgot His promise, even though it lasted more than 2000 anos.
God repeated His promise many times. He spoke through the mouth of His servants, para as pessoas, to remind them of the promise. God didn’t lie, He spoke the truth.
The promises of God will come to pass
Eu gostaria de encorajá-lo, that when God gives you a promise, He will make sure that it will come to pass. But sometimes it may take a while. It will happen at His time, and not your time.
All you have to do, is to trust Him completely, and wait. Permaneça em Sua Palavra, and get to know Him better. The more you will know Him, mais você confiará Nele, and the stronger your faith will become. Não faça nada estúpido, don’t take matters into your own hand, mas espere….
