Assim como Jesus Cristo foi forte e corajoso e em obediência a Deus perseverou até o fim, os cristãos nascidos de novo, Quem são os filhos de Deus (homens e mulheres), should also be strong and of good courage. Why do you have to be strong and of good courage? Because only if you are strong and courageous, you shall be able to fulfill your task, persevere until the end, and finish the race of faith. What does it mean to be strong and of good courage?
Why do you have to be strong and of good courage?
Be strong and of a good courage: for unto this people shalt thou divide for an inheritance the land, which I sware unto their fathers to give them. Apenas seja forte e muito corajoso, para que tenhas cuidado de fazer conforme toda a lei, que Moisés, meu servo, te ordenou: não vire dele para a mão direita ou para a esquerda, para que prosperes onde quer que fores. Este livro da lei não se afastará da tua boca; mas meditarás nele dia e noite, para que tenhas cuidado de fazer conforme tudo o que nele está escrito: pois então farás próspero o teu caminho, e então você terá bom sucesso. Have not I commanded thee? Be strong and of a good courage; não tenha medo, neither be thou dismayed: for the Lord thy God is with thee whithersoever thou goest (Joshua 1:6-9)
No artigo anterior ‘How did the walls of Jericho fall?’ you read, how God commanded Joshua to be strong and of good courage. But before God spoke these words to Joshua, God had already spoken these words through the mouth of His servant Moses (Oh. Deuteronômio 31:3-8; 31:22-23).
God was with Joshua, but Joshua had to be strong and of good courage, God couldn’t do that for him. It was God’s commandment and whether Joshua would obey God’s commandment was up to him and depended upon his faith in God.
Joshua had to be strong and of good courage to:
- Take the promised land as an inheritance
- Keep the law and not deviate from it
- Not be afraid nor dismayed
Joshua lived in the Old Covenant under the law and belonged to the generation of the old man. But even the old man, quem é carnal, had to be strong and courageous to walk in obedience to the will of God (Leia também: ‘O velho homem‘ e ‘A batalha e a fraqueza do velho').
Therefore shall ye keep all the commandments which I command you this day, that ye may be strong, and go in and possess the land, whither ye go to possess it (Deuteronômio 11:8)
Joshua was faithful to God and His Word and was strong and of good courage and because of that Joshua was able to do the will of God. He knew his God and had faith in God and was therefore not afraid nor dismayed, but Joshua walked by faith and took the promised land in possession.
Joshua was not sense ruled, he was not led by what he saw and heard nor was Joshua led by his feelings and/or the circumstances, but Joshua was led by the words of God. And so Joshua walked by faith and stayed faithful to God and His Word and took the inheritance in possession
Jesus was strong and of good courage

As he saith also in another place, Thou art a Priest for ever after the order of Melchisedec. Jesus, o Filho de Deus, was strong and of good courage. Jesus was tempted in all things, pelo diabo, evil spirits and His people, including His friends, without sin.
Jesus experienced temptations, Dificuldades, falsas acusações, resistência, e perseguição de pessoas, but Jesus was strong and of good courage, and despite all the temptations, Dificuldades, falsas acusações, resistência, e perseguição de pessoas, incluindo os líderes religiosos, Jesus continued to preach the Kingdom of God and call the people to repentance.
Em tudo, Jesus showed His love for God the Father, through His obedience and faithfulness to His Father. Jesus had submitted Himself to the Father and followed the Holy Spirit.
And so Jesus walked by faith in God and was strong and of good courage and persevered until the end (Leia também: ‘Tenha fé em Deus‘ e ‘A obediência a Deus').
The sons of God are strong and of good courage
Wherefore seeing we also are compassed about with so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which doth so easily beset us, and let us run with patience the race that is set before us, Looking unto Jesus the Author and Finisher of our faith; que pela alegria que lhe estava proposta suportou a cruz, desprezando a vergonha, e está assentado à direita do trono de Deus. Os discípulos de Jesus, who had become sons of God through the regeneration in Christ and received the Holy Spirit, followed Jesus Christ the Author and Finisher of their faith, and walked in His footsteps (Leia também: O Autor da salvação eterna‘ e ‘Seguir Jesus vai custar-lhe tudo’).
The disciples followed Jesus’ example and were just like Jesus strong and of good courage, whereby they were able to keep the words and mandamentos de Jesus Cristo and stay faithful to Him and were not afraid nor dismayed, while they fulfilled their task and preached the gospel of Jesus Christ and the Kingdom of God and Ligue para o povo para se arrepender and took the nations as their inheritance and persevered and finished the race of faith until the end.

Be strong in the Lord and stand fast in the faith

Pois não lutamos contra carne e sangue, mas contra os principados, contra poderes, contra os governantes das trevas deste mundo, contra a maldade espiritual nos lugares altos. Portanto, tomai para vós toda a armadura de Deus, para que possais resistir no dia mau, e tendo feito tudo, para ficar de pé (Efésios 6:10-13)
Cuidado, permaneça firme na fé, desistir de você como os homens, seja forte. Let all your things be done with charity (1 Coríntios 16:13-14)
Se você nasceu de novo e se tornou uma nova criação em Cristo e tem o Espírito Santo habitando em você, então você deve ser forte e ter coragem para perseverar na fé e permanecer fiel a Deus e à Sua Palavra até o fim
Você tem que ser forte e ter coragem para fazer a vontade de Deus e tomar posse da herança e não ter medo nem desanimar.
Porque muitas tentações surgirão em seu caminho. O diabo tentará tentá-lo e levá-lo ao pecado e tentará enganá-lo através dos pensamentos em sua mente e/ou pelas pessoas ao seu redor, a quem ele usa para o seu reino.
Mas se você conhece a Palavra de Deus e conhece a Sua vontade e é forte e tem boa coragem, então você não será tentado e enganado, but you shall resist and overcome the devil by the Word and refute the words of people with the Word.
It shall not always be easy to walk in the will of God and keep the commandments of Jesus, que também são os mandamentos de Deus. Because if you don’t speak, act and walk like the world, you shall experience incomprehension, crítica, raiva, falsas acusações, rejeição, condenação, and maybe even persecution.
The cowards shall compromise and adjust the words and will of God, but the weak, who have become strong through regeneration in Christ, shall stand on the Word and overcome and be victorious.
Be strong and courages and endure hardness as a good soldier of Jesus Christ
Thou therefore, meu filho, be strong in the grace that is in Christ Jesus. And the things that thou hast heard of me among many witnesses, the same commit thou to faithful men, que será capaz de ensinar outros também. Tu, portanto, suportas a dureza, como um bom soldado de Jesus Cristo (2 Timóteo 2:1-3)
Eu sou Alfa e Ômega, O começo e o fim> eu darei a ele, que tem sede da fonte da água da vida livremente. Aquele que vencer herdará todas as coisas; e eu serei seu Deus, e ele será meu filho. Mas os medrosos (covarde), e incrédulos, e o abominável, e assassinos, e prostitutas (sexualmente imoral), e feiticeiros, e idólatras, e todos os mentirosos, terão sua parte no lago que arde com fogo e enxofre: que é a segunda morte (Revelação 21:6-8)
Somente pelo seu amor a Deus; Deus o Pai, Jesus Cristo, o Filho, e o Espírito Santo guardareis Seus mandamentos e sereis fortes e de bom ânimo e permanecereis na fé e perseverareis
Contanto que você permaneça forte e com boa coragem e permaneça firme na Palavra e ande pela fé na armadura espiritual como um soldado de Cristo, você será capaz de resistir ao diabo e vencer e receber a herança em Cristo e herdar o Reino de Deus e a vida eterna (Leia também: ‘Você anda com a armadura certa?).
Mas os covardes, que foram guiados pelo medo e ajustaram as palavras de Deus e se comprometeram com o mundo, não herdarão o Reino de Deus e a vida eterna, mas terão a sua parte no lago de fogo
Portanto, seja forte e tenha bom ânimo e ande em obediência à Palavra segundo o Espírito e permaneça na fé! Saber, que Deus está com você e Ele nunca te deixará nem te desamparará.
‘Seja o sal da terra’
