What does Proverbs 2:7-8 mean?

Proverbs 2:7-8 means when you walk on the path of the Lord, which is the path of life, the Lord shall protect you. The Lord lays up His sound wisdom and keeps it for the righteous.

The righteous are those, who believe in the Lord Jesus Christ, accept Jesus as Savior and Lord, and are born again and seated in Him. As a result of the new nature and new position in Christ, they walk uprightly.

The righteous listen to Him, obey His Word, and keep His commandments. Through their walk, they show Him that they love Him and belong to Him

He layeth up sound wisdom for the righteous: He is a Buckler to them that walk uprightly. He keepeth the paths of judgment, and preserves the way of His saints

Proverbs 2:7-8

The Lord is a Buckler to them that walk uprightly

The Lord is a Buckler, He is a shield to those who are in Christ. He is a Buckler to those, who obey His word and walk  in integrity and uprightly in His Word.

The Lord keeps the paths of judgment and preserves the way of His saints.

That’s why you don’t have to worry about a thing. As long as you stay in Christ and be obedient to Him (the Word), He shall preserve you. He shall watch over you and you shall be save in Him.
