Apa itu takut kepada Tuhan? Ketakutan Tuhan adalah permulaan kebijaksanaan,
dan pengetahuan orang suci adalah pemahaman

Ketakutan Tuhan adalah permulaan kebijaksanaan:
a good understanding have all they that do the Lord’s commandments:
His praise endures for ever

Ketakutan Tuhan adalah permulaan pengetahuan:
tetapi orang bodoh menghina hikmat dan didikan

The fear of the Lord is the instruction of wisdom; and before honour is humility

Ketakutan Tuhan adalah membenci kejahatan: Pride, dan keangkuhan, dan cara jahat,
dan mulut froward, does God hates

The fear of the Lord is clean, enduring for ever:
the judgments of the Lord are true and righteous altogether

Takut akan Tuhan adalah mata air kehidupan, menjauhi jerat maut

The fear of the Lord tends to life: and he that hath it shall abide satisfied;
he shall not be visited with evil

The fear of the Lord prolongs days:
but the years of the wicked shall be shortened

In the fear of the Lord is strong confidence:
and his children shall have a place of refuge

Better is little with the fear of the Lord than great treasure and trouble therewith
Dengan belas kasihan dan kebenaran, kejahatan dibersihkan:
dan dengan takut akan Tuhan manusia menjauhi kejahatan

By humility and the fear of the Lord are riches, dan penghormatan, dan hidup

Let not thine heart envy sinners:
but be thou in the fear of the Lord all the day long.
For surely there is an end; and thine expectation shall not be cut off
