To sin or not to sin is the decision you make in life. Every person is responsible for his or her own life and decides to believe God and His Word (la Bible) and walk in the will of God or not. Just like the Father, Jesus gave a command to sin no more but it was up to the people to give heed to his command or not. Let’s look at the story of the healing of the lame man at the pool of Bethesda and the woman who committed adultery and was caught in the act.
The healing of the lame man at the pool of Bethesda
Dans John 5:1-15, Jésus a guéri un homme, qui avait une infirmité pour 38 années. Cet boiteux allongé sur un lit au bord de la piscine de Bethesda.
When Jesus saw the lame man, He went to him and asked him if he wanted to get well. Le boiteux répondit à Jésus, that he didn’t have anyone to bring him to the water to get healed.
Alors Jésus ordonna à l'homme de se lever, de prendre son lit et de marcher. The man obeyed the words of Jesus and stood up and walked. Le boiteux a été guéri par Jésus! But what did Jesus say to him about the decision to sin or not to sin?
Why did Jesus say to Sin no more?
When Jesus met the man who was healed of his infirmity in the Temple in Jerusalem, Jésus a ordonné à l'homme de ne plus pécher. Why did Jesus say to sin no more? Lest a worse thing would come unto him.
Jésus a guéri l'homme de sa maladie (son infirmité). L’homme a été guéri et le Royaume de Dieu lui est venu.
Le royaume des ténèbres avait captivé l'homme pendant 38 années. But when Jesus came and the power of the Kingdom of heaven came upon him, l'homme a été libéré de son esclavage.
Ensuite, Jésus le trouva dans le temple, et lui dit :, Voir, Tu es fait entier: ne pèche plus, de peur qu'une pire chose ne vienne à toi
John 5:14
Jésus a libéré l'homme de la prison spirituelle des ténèbres
Jesus released this lame man from this spiritual prison of darkness. Now that this man was released from this spiritual prison of darkness, Jesus commanded the healed man to no violate the spiritual laws by sinning.
Autrement dit; Jesus told the man to keep the commandments and do the Volonté de Dieu and stay obedient to God instead of obeying and doing the will of the devil (qui travaille dans la chair) par péché.
Because if the man decided to reject the commandment of Jesus and disobey God and sin, he would be taken captive again by the forces of darkness and worse things would happen to him.
Jésus a averti l'homme, because the man was carnal. He didn’t see the spiritual realm and couldn’t discern the spirits. But Jesus was spiritual and knew the spirit realm and the spiritual laws and revealed it to him through His word.
Jesus knew the Kingdom of Heaven and the kingdom of darkness. He wanted this man to stay free and not become a prisoner of the devil and darkness again.
Donc, Jésus a ordonné à l'homme de ne plus pécher.
Jésus a dit, Go and sin no more to the woman that committed adultery
Dans John 8:1-11, we read about a woman that was caught in the act of adultery. The woman that committed adultery was brought unto Jesus. Les scribes et les pharisiens accusèrent la femme d'adultère et racontèrent à Jésus ce qu'elle avait fait..
They suggested to stone her according to the Loi de Moïse. But the words of these men didn’t come from a good conscience. They only wanted to tempt Jesus, so that they could accuse Him.
Jésus écrivit par terre avec son doigt et leur dit, “He who’s sinless among you, qu'il soit le premier à lui jeter la pierre“.
Jesus knew that the people that belonged to the old generation of fallen man were carnal. They were trapped in the sinful nature of the flesh.
Instead of stoning the adultrous woman, the men left one by one until there was no one left except Jesus and the adultrous woman.
À ce moment là, Jesus had the power to condemn the woman and stone her. Because Jesus walked in the authority of the Kingdom of God (comme la nouvelle création) and was sinless.
Cependant, Jesus said to the woman that He wouldn’t condemn her either. Since it was not Jesus’ time to judge but to save.
MAIS… Jésus n'a pas approuvé of her work of adultery. Jesus commanded the woman to go her way and ne pèche plus.
Jésus lui dit, Je ne te condamne pas non plus: aller, et ne pèche plus
John 8:11
La nouvelle création est séparée du monde
When you repent and become born again in Christ and enter the Kingdom of God, you leave the kingdom of darkness and are separated from the world. You have been forgiven, racheté, and made whole and righteous by the blood of Jesus Christ.
You’ve become new creation and as a result of this spiritual transformation, vous serez repousse ton vieux avec ses vieilles habitudes.
Vous ne marcherez plus comme vous marchiez avant votre repentir, because you repented from that lifestyle and its works (de la chair).
Il est essentiel de comprendre que tu n'es plus un pécheur. You have become a saint through regeneration in Christ.
If you don’t realize and believe this, you will always think and live as a sinner. You’ll be stuck in your sins and never be freed from your sins.
Quand tu es né de nouveau, tu es passé d'un royaume spirituel à un autre (Colossiens 1:13-14)
In your old life, you thought like the world and walked in sin (sin = disobedience to God. It’s everything that goes against the Word of God that represents the will of God) and you were of the devil.
The nature of the devil will do his will
You had the character and nature of your father the devil. In your fallen state, tu n'étais pas capable de te soumettre à Dieu et de faire sa volonté. Plutôt, you lived after the will of the flesh in rebellion.
You were rebellious towards God and His Word and obedient to the words and will of the devil (la volonté, luxure, and desire of your flesh), et vivait dans le péché. La Bible dit, que si tu pèches, you have the devil as father and do the lust thereof (John 8:44).
When you decided se repentir, tu as dit indirectement que tu ne voulais plus avoir le diable comme père. Tu ne voulais pas obéir à ses paroles et marcher selon sa volonté. Tu en avais marre de ta vie sous son autorité.
Quand vous avez entendu les paroles de l’Évangile et rencontré Jésus-Christ, vous avez cru en lui et l'avez accepté comme votre Sauveur et Seigneur.
Vous vouliez Dieu comme Père au lieu du diable, obéissez à ses paroles et marchez dans sa volonté.. Tu ne voulais pas obéir aux paroles du diable et marcher selon sa volonté.
La nature de Dieu fera sa volonté
From the moment you are born again and receive the nature of your Father God, you will long for Him and the things of His Kingdom. There must be a desire to do the will of God and to walk according to what God says.
A real father knows what is good for his child. A real father wants the best for his child. Si un père terrestre veut le meilleur pour ses enfants, combien plus ton Père céleste.
C'est pourquoi, God revealed His will to us in His Word (la Bible).
God revealed to us not only what pleases Him and what displeases Him, but He also revealed the way of salvation, comment devenir une nouvelle création and how to walk as the new creation in His will.
God revealed it all in the Bible which is His Word. De sorte que, Sa voie devient votre voie et His thoughts becomes your thoughts.
Did the people choose to sin or not to sin?
Jésus a dit à l'homme, qui a été guéri de son infirmité et la femme, qui a été surpris en flagrant délit d'adultère, Pinter plus. Donc, these people had the power to sin no more. They had the power to say ‘no to sin’. But did they obey the commandment of Jesus and choose to sin no more or not?
Jésus lui dit, Tu aimeras le Seigneur ton Dieu de tout ton cœur, et de toute ton âme, et de tout ton esprit. C'est le premier et grand commandement. Et le second lui ressemble, Tu aimeras ton prochain comme toi-même. De ces deux commandements dépendent toute la loi et les prophètes (Matthieu 22:37-40)
La femme avait le pouvoir de dire « non »’ à l'adultère, Parce que sinon, Jésus ne lui aurait plus donné le commandement de ne plus pécher. La question est, la femme a-t-elle répondu à Jésus’ commandement de ne plus pécher?
Did the adulterous woman obey the commandment of Jesus or did she let her feelings, son désir, and her desire rule over the words of Jesus and give in to her feelings of lust and desire?
Souviens-toi, quand Jésus a ordonné de ne plus pécher, His crucifixion and the effusion du Saint-Esprit had not taken place yet.
So these people were not born again. Ils étaient toujours l'ancienne création. However the old creation had the power to say ‘no’ pécher et ne plus pécher.
Toi aussi tu as le pouvoir de ne plus pécher. Vous décidez de pécher ou de ne pas pécher.
Par le biais de la œuvre rédemptrice de Jésus-Christ, tu as été rendu saint et juste. Maintenant que tu as été rendu saint et juste, tu as aussi été appelé à vivre dans la sainteté et la justice (2 Corinthiens 5:21).
Sauvé par la grâce et faisant les œuvres de l'Esprit
Vous n'êtes pas sauvé par les œuvres, but by grace. Mais être sous la grâce ne signifie pas que vous êtes autorisé à continuer à pécher.. Parce que si votre chair est morte en Christ quand vous êtes né de nouveau, comment peux-tu faire les œuvres de la chair?
Tu aimeras le Seigneur ton Dieu de tout ton cœur, et de toute ton âme et de tout ton esprit et tu aimeras ton prochain comme toi-même (Matthieu 22:37-40)
When you are saved and born again, you see the nature and effect of sin, qui est le fruit de la mort. You will hate sin, tout comme Dieu. Vous détesterez votre ancienne vie de pécheur et n'y reviendrez pas. (Lire aussi: Pouvez-vous continuer à pécher sous la grâce?)
Lorsque vous aime Dieu de tout ton coeur, âme, esprit, et la force tu aimeras faire sa volonté.
You shall spend time with God and renew your mind with the Word of God (la Bible) and apply His words into your life, afin que vous deveniez un observateur des paroles de Dieu et que vous fassiez les œuvres de l'Esprit. Vous n’êtes pas obligé de le faire, mais tu veux, parce que tu as été créé à son image et que tu aimes Dieu.
Quand la Parole et le Saint-Esprit habitent en toi, vous marcherez selon l'Esprit dans l'obéissance à la Parole. Tu marcheras amoureux, sainteté, et la justice, faire la volonté du Père et l'exalter et le glorifier.
