Did you know what happened on the sixth day? What did God create on the sixth day? On the sixth day, God created Adam, who was God’s first son on earth? But did you also know that Jesus, the second Son of God, Who walked on this earth, died on the sixth day?
God created man on the sixth day
Let’s have a look at the moment when the son of God (άνδρας) was created:
Και είπε ο Θεός, Ας κάνουμε τον άνθρωπο κατ' εικόνα μας, μετά την ομοίωσή μας:και ας κυριαρχήσουν στα ψάρια της θάλασσας, και πάνω από τα πτηνά του αέρα, και πάνω από τα βοοειδή, και σε όλη τη γη, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth. Έτσι ο Θεός δημιούργησε τον άνθρωπο κατ' εικόνα του, κατ' εικόνα του Θεού τον έπλασε; αρσενικό και θηλυκό τα δημιούργησε. Και ο Θεός τους ευλόγησε, και τους είπε ο Θεός, Να είστε καρποφόροι, και πολλαπλασιάζονται, και αναπλήρωσε τη γη, και υποτάξε το:και να κυριαρχούν στα ψάρια της θάλασσας, και πάνω από τα πτηνά του αέρα, και πάνω από κάθε ζωντανό πράγμα που κινείται πάνω στη γη. Και είπε ο Θεός, Βλέπω, I have given you every herb bearing seed, which is upon the face of all the earth, and every tree, in the which is the fruit of a tree yielding seed; to you it shall be for meat. And to every beast of the earth, and to every fowl of the air, and to every thing that creepeth upon the earth, wherein there is life, I have given every green herb for meat:and it was so. And God saw every thing that he had made, και, βλέπω, it was very good. And the evening and the morning were the sixth day (Γένεση 1:26-31)
Jesus died on the sixth hour of the sixth day
Now let’s have a look at the moment, ότι ο Ιησούς, ο Υιός του Θεού, the Son of man, died on the sixth day and what took place at the cross, from the sixth hour:
Now from the sixth hour there was darkness over all the land unto the ninth hour. And about the ninth hour Jesus cried with a loud voice, ρητό, Eli, Eli, lama sabachthani? that is to say, My God, my God, why hast thou forsaken me?
Some of them that stood there, when they heard that, said, This man calleth for Elias. And straightway one of them ran, and took a spunge, and filled it with vinegar, and put it on a reed, and gave him to drink.
The rest said, Let be, let us see whether Elias will come to save him.
Ιησούς, when he had cried again with a loud voice, yielded up the ghost. And, βλέπω, the veil of the temple was rent in twain from the top to the bottom; and the earth did quake, and the rocks rent; And the graves were opened; and many bodies of the saints which slept arose, And came out of the graves after his resurrection, and went into the holy city, and appeared unto many. Now when the centurion, and they that were with him, watching Jesus, saw the earthquake, and those things that were done, they feared greatly, ρητό, Truly this was the Son of God (Ματθαίος 27:45-54)
On the sixth day, man was created, and on the sixth day it was the end for the carnal man.
The crown of God’s creation
Man was the crown of God’s creation. Όταν ο Θεός δημιούργησε τον άνθρωπο, His work was completed. God looked at everything He created and saw it was very good. God rested on the seventh day.
It was all good, until the moment came that His perfect work, and the harmony, became disrupted, by man becoming ανυπάκουος to God the Father, the Creator.
Εκείνη τη στιγμή, the creation was not perfect anymore. Because through the disobedience of man, the spirit of the human race died.
Man gave their position as son of God, and their authority as a son of God, to rule over the earth and all there is within, to the devil; the adversary of God.
From that moment, man was narrated to the flesh, and their final destination would be death.
But God had already a new plan, to give back the authority to His sons and daughters, and to have a relationship with them again. God’s new plan would bruise the serpent’s head; and He would legally take back the authority, that was originally given to man. This happened on the sixth day of the week, when Jesus Christ took all the sins and iniquities of the world upon Himself, and died for mankind.
A new era
Jesus rose from the dead, on the first day of the week, also called the eight-day. This eight-day was the first day of a new era. The old covenant had passed away, the new covenant had begun, which included the νέα δημιουργία that would be born of the Spirit of God.
Jesus had defeated the devil and death, by being completely obedient to God. Jesus had taken back the authority as Son of God. Jesus was the first One of the new creation.
Ολοι, who would believe in Jesus Christ; and would accept Him as Saviour and made Him Lord over their lives, He would give the opportunity, to become a son of God (born of the Holy Spirit) and have eternal life. Only through Him it was possible, and still is possible.
