Šta je strah Gospodnji? Strah od Gospoda je početak mudrosti,
a saznanje Svetog je razumevanja

Strah od Gospoda je početak mudrosti:
a good understanding have all they that do the Lord’s commandments:
His praise endures for ever

Strah od Gospoda je početak znanja:
ali budale preziru mudrost i instrukcije

Strah Gospodnji je pouka mudrosti; a ispred časti je poniznost

Strah od Gospoda je mrziti zlo: ponos, i arogancije, i zlim putem,
i bezobrazna usta, does God hates

The fear of the Lord is clean, enduring for ever:
the judgments of the Lord are true and righteous altogether

Strah od Gospoda je fontana života, odstupiti od zamke smrti

Strah Gospodnji teži životu: a ko ima, ostaće zadovoljan;
neće ga posjetiti zlo

The fear of the Lord prolongs days:
but the years of the wicked shall be shortened

U strahu Gospodnjem je jako pouzdanje:
and his children shall have a place of refuge

Better is little with the fear of the Lord than great treasure and trouble therewith
Milošću i istinom se čisti bezakonje:
i strahom Gospodnjim ljudi se udaljavaju od zla

Poniznošću i strahom Gospodnjim dolazi do bogatstva, i čast, i život

Neka tvoje srce ne zavidi grešnicima:
ali budi u strahu Gospodnjem po ceo dan.
Jer sigurno postoji kraj; i tvoje očekivanje neće biti prekinuto
