That you might walk worthy of the Lord unto all pleasing, being fruitful in every good work, and increasing in the knowledge of God. Strengthened with all might, according to His glorious power, unto all patience and longsuffering with joyfulness (Colossians 1:10-11)
How to walk worthy of the Lord?
Why do you need the get to know the knowledge of His will in all wisdom and spiritual knowledge? So that you may walk worthy of the Lord, pleasing Him in all things. Yes, you have read that right: in all things, not just in a few things but in all things.
The Lord is omnipotent and sees everything. Nothing is hidden from the Great Almighty God:
The Great, the Mighty God, the Lord of hosts, is His name, Great in counsel, and mighty in work: for Thine eyes are open upon all the ways of the sons of men: to give every one according to his ways, and according to the fruit of his doings (Jeremiah 32:19)
You can only walk worthy of the Lord if you know His will and walk according to His will.
If you walk in His will, you will walk worthy of the Lord and please the Lord in all things and exalt Him.
Therefore, in everything you do, you can ask yourself this question: “does this glorify Jesus or not?”
Be fruitful in every good work
When you walk after the Spirit, after the will of God, and sow in the Spirit on the field of the Kingdom of God, then you will also reap the fruit of the Spirit. You will bear the fruit of the Spirit and be fruitful in every good work, being a loyal servant of the Most High God.
Increasing in the knowledge of God
While you walk after the Word and the Spirit and work in the Kingdom of God, you will get to know the Lord better and better and your knowledge of God and His will shall increase.
Strengthened with all might,
according to His glorious power
Through regeneration in Christ, you have been clothed and strengthened with all His might, according to His glorious power because the Holy Spirit lives inside of you. When you renew your mind with the Word of God, your mind will line up with the will of God (Read also: ‘‘Why renewing your mind is necessary‘).
You will think the way He thinks and walk in His way. Because of the fact, that your mind is renewed to the Word of God, and you walk in His will, the Holy Spirit will flow out of you and back you up whatever you say or do.
He will back you up when you put your hands on someone, who needs life, or when you speak to a person or situation.
We walk by faith and not by sight, because the Word of God says so. But as long as your mind is not renewed, and because of that your mind stays carnal, you will walk in unbelief and stop the Holy Spirit doing mighty works.
Unto all patience and longsuffering with joyfulness
And with everything you do, do not be discouraged nor be dismayed, but be patient and longsuffering with joyfulness. Don’t give up! You can never lose, you only lose when you give up the fight. Jesus made sure that you will always win, if you stay in Him and keep standing on the Word and don’t give up.
