In a previous article, the danger of television, it was discussed how television can defile your mind and connect you to demonic powers, and fill your mind with the lies of the world. But what about television for kids? Is watching television bad for children or not? Let’s have a look at the danger of television for children. Do you know, what your children are watching?
The spirit of this world infiltrates the mind via television
Since many Christians don’t walk after the Spirit anymore, but stay carnal and walk after the flesh, many Christians don’t recognize or discern the spiritual realm, which is behind the visible realm. Because of that, Christians don’t discern the spiritual dangers and open the door for evil spirits from the kingdom of darkness to enter their lives.
The spirit of this world infiltrates their mind and causes them to become and live just like the world. They watch the same programs and movies on television. But what many people are unaware of, is that by watching television, the spirit of the antichrist, who is already working among us, enters and people are prepared for the coming of the antichrist.
By watching television, they’ll become indifferent and tolerant towards sins. And eventually, they’ll accept sins and shall consider sins as normal. Instead of considering sin as an offense and disobedience to God.
The body of Christ is defiled with the world; the darkness. There’s hardly any distinction between a believer and an unbeliever (who lives without God). Many churches develop their own faith and no longer obey the Word of God. Instead, they twist and adjust the Word of God to the needs, lusts, and desires of the carnal people. The people have become the center of attention instead of Jesus Christ.
Now, that we know, how dangerous television can be and what kind of negative and bad influence the television has on the mind of people, you could ask yourself the following question: “How dangerous is the television for children?”
Do you know what your children watch on television?
Do you know what your child(ren) watches on television? And what kind of programs, series, or movies your child watches on television when you are not around? When you are at work or busy with cooking or other household tasks or when you are laying in bed?
There are many parents, who use the television for children as a tool; to keep them busy, quiet, and satisfied. But what happens when a child watches an ‘innocent’ television program or movie that is created especially for children? The world defines these children’s programs or movies as innocent, but what happens in these cartoons or movies? What happens to the child, who’s watching?
A dangerous time for children to grow up
Children of this age are being exposed to many dangers. They grow up in a society that is disconnected from God. Throughout the years, people have done everything they could, to develop all kinds of substitutes for God. So that, they would become in-depended and wouldn’t need God anymore, at least that’s what they thought.
We might say, that our society lives without God. Therefore children grow up in a world, where almost all the values of the Word of God are gone.
Many children are not taught in the Word of God, and therefore many won’t grow up in the Word. They are not corrected by their parents through the Word of God, but they are allowed to do, whatever they want to do. Because when children don’t get their way, they become angry and whine and yell and that’s not what parents want. No, the parents are tired when they come home from work and don’t want to correct a disobedient child at home. They want to have some peace and quietness.
Raising children in a free-range style
Therefore they allow their children to make their own decisions and keep them satisfied, so that they won’t yell, scream, and whine at their parent and be rebellious. The child is allowed to do, whatever the child wants to do, and what pleases the child. That’s the easiest way to raise a child. Because that way the child can never point a finger at the parents and blame the parents for the way they were raised.
Many parents choose to raise their children in a free-range style. They believe in the lie of the world, that this free-range style is the best way to raise a child, because science (pedagogues, psychologists, psychiatrists etc) says so.
They think it’s a good thing, to allow children to make their own decisions. But a child of 8, 10, or 12 years old, is not able to make his/her own decisions.
We see a decrease in moral values and an increase of rebellion towards parents, educators, and family, brutality, disobedience, disrespectfulness, pride, selfishness, etc.
Most children don’t want to submit themselves to parents, teachers, friends, etc. The child wants to do whatever (s)he pleases to do.
A big influence on their behavior is their education and the way a child is raised. But the television for children, gaming, books etc. also have a big influence on their development and their behavior.
What is the danger of television for children?
Let’s have a look at the television for children and some well-known educative programs for children. Dora is considered an educative program, because children learn to count, read, get environmental awareness etc. But what else do they learn?
Children learn to walk away from home, to engage in conversations with ‘strangers’, and go with them. The children are educated in the new age, astrology, and witchcraft.
Spongebob Squarepants
Spongebob Squarepants looks innocent, but what many don’t know, is that there seem to be hidden sexual messages. And look at the characters, who look like demonic creatures (and some even say, reverse genitals).
Calliou
Calliou is about a 4-year-old bold boy, who continuously whines and cries, no matter what his parents do. By whining and crying all the time, he always gets his way. He is the most important person in the family, and that clearly shows throughout the series. He is jealous of his little sister and often fights with her. There is a big chance that toddlers and pre-schoolers take over this behavior.
The Minions
And let’s not forget the ‘adorable’ minions, who are taking over the world. Everywhere you go, you see these yellow demonic creatures, that most people find adorable and cute. They are very popular among children, teenagers, and young adults. They enjoy watching movies like ‘Despicable Me’, ‘Despicable Me II’ (which is just a reflection of the devil and his demons (minions)), and ‘The Minions’. In these movies violence, sexual content, witchcraft (hypnotizing), etc., takes place.
Unfortunately, television for children is not that innocent anymore. Many children are being exposed to demonic forces. By watching these programs, evil spirits of lust, witchcraft, violence, rebellion, etc. enter the lives of many children. Since children identify themselves in the early stages of life with other characters, they will adopt the behavior of the main characters and act the way they act.
Witchcraft
How many times does a toddler or pre-schooler say: “hocus pocus, you will become a frog?” Parents find this cute and adorable and don’t mind their child saying that. Maybe they even laugh a little bit. But when a child says something like this, it comes from a spirit of witchcraft that has entered the child by a television show that includes witchcraft.
Maybe the child watched a program or movie that contained a witch, like fairy tales as tangled, the emperor’s new groove, the sword in the stone, snow-white and the seven dwarfs, little mermaid, sleeping beauty (Maleficent), etc. Therefore, fairy tales are not harmless either. A child, who says a spell is already practicing witchcraft.
The danger of television for teenagers
There is not only a danger of television for children, but there is also a danger of television for teenagers. There are a lot of programs for teenagers that make them vulnerable and world-like. They are indoctrinated with the spirit of this world; the spirit of the antichrist and darkness and shall live that way. They feed their mind with Pretty little liars, Gossip girl, 90210, Vampires diary, The Haunted Hathaways, Harry Potter movies, Sabrina the teenage witch, Every witch way, and other popular witchcraft and vampires series etc.
And let’s not forget series like glee, which seems like a nice high school series full of musical songs etc. but is full of sexual content; sexual intercourse, experimenting, cheating, abortion, homosexuality, violence, drugs, bad language and so on.
Television for children defiles the mind
The devil has one goal and that’s to destroy humanity. He wants to control and destroy the mind of people, including children. Because he knows that if you control the mind, you control the life of the person. He catches children in his evil web of darkness because children are the future. One of his ways is by using the television for children. Because, that way he can influence, defile and control the mind. He can influence the way a child thinks, and defile the mind with darkness and all kinds of lies.
Through the television for children, children are being defiled in their mind. They’re being educated with evil, darkness, witchcraft, new age, violence etc.
They will adopt the character of the devil and will, just like him, hate God, Jesus, and the Holy Spirit. They will hate everything that involves Christianity, including visiting a church on Sunday’s and weekdays.
And then parents still wonder, why their child has become so selfish, rebellious and doesn’t want to submit to their authority.
The devil didn’t want to submit to God and we see the same thing happening with the children of this generation.
There are exceptions of course, but the majority of children are very lively, loud and scream, rebellious, disobedient, disrespectful towards others, selfish, narcissistic, violent, outrageous, liars etc.
A child is too young to understand the Bible and the spiritual world
Many times I hear people say: “well, a child is just too young to understand the Bible, the work of Jesus and the spiritual world.” And as soon as you talk about the devil and demonic powers people silence you, because if you talk about the devil and darkness you may scare a child, and cause fear and nightmares.
Isn’t that something? A child is allowed to watch demonic powers and be involved in witchcraft, magic, ghosts, vampires, zombies, fights, warfare, sexual uncleanness etc., but a child is too young for Jesus Christ; the Word of God and to understand spiritual warfare.
A child cannot understand the spiritual world out of the Kingdom of God. But a child can understand the spiritual world out of the kingdom of darkness (because that’s the origin of many television programs).
Do you see how ridiculous that is? Do you see this wrong mindset many people have created?
Children raised with the Word of God
If a child would be raised with the Word of God and be taught in the Word and spiritual warfare, and if there would be strict supervision to what programs a child is watching, then the behavior of children would be so different from what we see today.
Then children would become obedient, respectful, have integrity, loving, willing, helpful, humble etc.
Jesus said, Suffer little children, and forbid them not, to come unto me: for of such is the kingdom of heaven (Mat 19:14, Mark 10:14, Luke 18:16)
But how many parents, even believers, forbid their children to come to Jesus.
How do they forbid their children to come to Jesus? By not raising them in the Word of God and by not correcting them.
By raising a child in the Word, and I don’t mean to just quickly read a view verses of the Bible after dinner or before a child goes to bed. These things are also good, but raising a child in the Word means to teach the Word. Teach a child how to pray and live and walk as a born again Christian, who walks after the Spirit, and not after the flesh, and teach them the difference between the Kingdom of God and the kingdom of the devil. So that, a child shall live and act according to what the Word says, and not according to what the world says.
Children are not too young
Children are never too young to understand the Word. But the parents should be consistent and ‘break’ the will of the child as soon as a child is born. So that, the child shall not exalt itself, become prideful, and narcissistic. But instead, be humble and submit to parents, to God, and to the Word; Jesus.
When a child is not taught to submit to the parents, how can a child submit to God? That’s impossible! What will happen is, that they will create an imaginary God, and an imaginary Jesus, in their mind, and grow up with this imaginary Jesus. That’s what we see happening around us: adults, who have created their own God, an own Jesus in their minds.
Let us therefore not forbid children to come to Jesus. Because, if you don’t claim them for the Kingdom of God, the devil will claim them for his kingdom.
Let us raise our children with the Word of God; Jesus, so that they will yield to Him and become His soldiers; His spiritual warriors in the Kingdom of God.
Don’t lose the next generation to the darkness, but let us claim them for the Kingdom of God. So that, they will preach the gospel; the good news of Jesus Christ and His redemptive work and distribute life to people and win their souls for the Kingdom of God.
Don’t let a new generation get lost, because of comfort, selfishness (because you are too busy with your self, your work, your social life, social media etc.), but invest in your children. Nurture them and correct them, and raise them up in the Word of God, in the Spirit, in truth and in the fear of the Lord.
