Consulting spirits is a well-known phenomenon, but many times people are not aware of the danger of consulting spirits. There are many people, who consult spirits for various reasons. They are curious about their future or want to gain knowledge and wisdom and seek secret information, or contact the dead and communicate with a deceased relative, friend, or acquaintance, etc. They will go to a person, who has a familiar spirit, like a fortune-teller, witchdoctor, medium, shaman (who practice necromancy), etc.. Because people, who have a familiar spirit are able to communicate with spirits (demons) and the dead. But nowadays, you don’t need someone, who has a familiar spirit, anymore. Because everyone is able to consult spirits and communicate with spirits and consult the dead and speak to the ghosts of ancestors. Many people, especially children, teenagers, students, and young adults consult spirits and communicate with spirits, through the means of games (Ouija board game, pencil game; Charlie Charlie challenge), apps on their phones or tablets or by using candles, mirrors, pictures, meditation, occult ceremony, getting into trance, etc. But why is consulting spirits dangerous? What does the Bible say about consulting spirits?
Charlie Charlie challenge
The Charlie Charlie challenge, which is also known as the pencil game, is very popular these days. The pencil game is played by many people, especially students. Many students are lured into the occult realm through curiosity. Because isn’t this a great way to find out, what will happen in the future? And the only thing you need is two pencils, a piece of paper and consult a spirit called Charlie. That’s it!
The Charlie Charlie challenge is a variant of the Ouija game. The essence of these games is that by consulting the dead; consulting spirits (demons), you will get answers to your questions, by means of a pointer tool; pencils, pointer, etc.
But what happens if you are consulting spirits and get an unpleasant or undesirable answer? If something else will happen, that you have not asked for? What happens, when these spirits show up in your life and start harassing and tormenting you? Are these games really innocent? Or are they not? Is consulting spirits and consulting the dead indeed harmless as so many people say and believe? Or isn’t it? What’s the danger of consulting spirits?
What happens in the spiritual realm when you are consulting spirits
What many people often don’t know, is that, as soon as you participate and start consulting spirits, you will become a partaker of the spiritual realm. However, you won’t enter the spiritual realm legally, through and in Jesus Christ (in the third heaven); in His protection. Instead, you will enter the spiritual world illegally, in your own power; out of your soul (entering the second heaven).
You enter the spiritual realm (the second heaven) in your own power; soul power, and by consulting spirits and consulting the dead, you will invite evil spirits; demons to enter your life and take possession of your life (body and soul).
You have become a partaker of the occult realm and because you have become a partaker, you will pay the price. You cannot be involved in the occult realm, without any consequences.
The devil wants you to become a partaker in the occult realm, so that he can enter your life, take possession of your life and cause a lot of problems and harm in your life.
The devil and his demons want to communicate with people and want to possess and live in people. Because people are their entrance into the natural realm. They have one mission and that’s to destroy people; humanity. Because people are the crown of God’s creation.
Looking for answers in the wrong places
If you become a partaker of witchcraft by consulting spirits in order to get answers to your questions or to seek wisdom and knowledge, then demons are more than willing to provide you with these answers. They will give you (secret) knowledge and wisdom, which are in reality lies from the darkness. They will give you, what you’ve asked for. But they don’t give it freely. They always want something in return and that is your life.
There are a lot of people, who become partakers of witchcraft, even people, who say they believe and go to church. There are many people, who go to church on Sundays, but visit regularly a fortune-teller? Or they are consulting spirits and practice witchcraft themselves, because they have a familiar spirit. Or they read their horoscope in the newspaper, magazine or phone.
Yes, that’s right, even a horoscope is a source of fortune-telling. When you read a horoscope, even if you just read it for fun, you will open the door for familiar spirits; for demons, to enter your life.
You cannot play with the devil
You cannot play with the devil, not even a little bit. As soon as you enter his territory, he will catch you and take you captive, despite your intentions. He will take you captive, torment you and will eventually destroy you because that’s his character. Even if you didn’t mean to, that doesn’t matter to him. He will take you captive. It may all seem like a game to you, but it isn’t a game to him.
As soon as you consult him, you will invite him and his evil spirits: familiar spirits, spirits of witchcraft, a spirit of fear, a spirit of insomnia, a spirit of depression, a spirit of deception, a spirit of paranoia, a spirit of dead, etc. These evil spirits will cause mental problems and illness in your life.
It could be, that only one evil spirit (demon) will enter, but it’s also possible that more evil spirits will enter.
These evil spirits may manifest themselves immediately. But they can also manifest themselves after a while. But one thing is for sure: they will enter your life and will eventually always manifest in the natural realm; in a person’s life.
For example, you may suddenly hear audible voices in your head, telling you what to do. These are the voices of evil spirits, who control your mind and by obeying them, control your life.
A higher authority
These evil spirits will not leave by themselves, because why should they? After all, you have invited them into your life. Only someone with a higher authority and power can make them leave and that Someone is of course: Jesus Christ!
Only in the Name of Jesus Christ; in His authority, a person can be set free of every oppression, bondage, and possession of the devil! There is no other way, and no other person, who can set a person free. Not a psychologist, psychiatrist, a (witch)doctor, shaman, nor by rituals or by medicines. Only Jesus Christ can set you free!
Many people, who have been involved in the occult realm, by some kind of witchcraft, fortune-telling, necromancy, etc. suffer from pains and tortures in their soul and body. They experience mental disorders and physical sickness.
Sometimes their mental disorder is so serious and sever, that they have to be hospitalized. They are treated for their mental disorder and many times are given drugs (medicines) to control their situation according to medical science. The drugs will not cure the person, but the drugs will only eliminate particular functions in their brains (mind) and body. They will control the person and the person’s body, through the means of drugs, so that these evil spirits cannot manifest themselves any longer in the body.
But drugs don’t silence and cast out demons and cure the person.
Curiosity leads to torment
How many people are being held captive in isolation and are being tortured, tormented, and ravaged by these evil spirits, only because they were curious about their future, or wanted to gain more knowledge and wisdom or speak with a deceased family member or friend?
Unfortunately, doctors, psychiatrists, and their treatments and drugs can’t help the suffering patient one bit. Why is that? Because the cause of their problem is in the spiritual realm, not in the physical realm (natural realm).
These demons come from the spiritual realm, but manifest themselves in the natural realm; in the life of a person. Therefore these demons can only be cast out by a person with a higher power of authority in the spiritual realm.
Evil spirits cannot be cast out by natural means: drugs, treatments, therapies, occult rituals, etc.
When a person, with a mental disorder, is hospitalized or locked up in a treatment center, the situation will not become better, but will only become worse.
The truth is that these evil spirits can only be cast out in the Name of Jesus. Only by the Word; Jesus and His blood a person can be delivered and be totally set free from these evil spirits.
What does the Word say about consulting spirits?
Regard not them that have familiar spirits, neither seek after wizards, to be defiled by them: I am the Lord your God (Lev 19:31)
And the soul that turns after such as have familiar spirits, and after wizards, to go a whoring after them, I will even set my face against that soul, and will cut him off from among his people. Sanctify yourselves therefore, and be ye holy: for I am the Lord your God (Lev 20:6-7)
There shall not be found among you any one that makes his son or his daughter to pass through the fire, or that uses divination, or an observer of times, or an enchanter, or a witch, Or a charmer, or a consulter with familiar spirits, or a wizard, or a necromancer. For all that do these things are an abomination unto the Lord: and because of these abominations the Lord thy God doth drive them out from before thee (Deu 18:10-12)
And when they shall say unto you, Seek unto them that have familiar spirits, and unto wizards that peep, and that mutter: should not a people seek unto their God? for the living to the dead? To the law and to the testimony: if they speak not according to this word, it is because there is no light in them. And they shall pass through it, hardly bestead and hungry: and it shall come to pass, that when they shall be hungry, they shall fret themselves, and curse their king and their God, and look upward. And they shall look unto the earth; and behold trouble and darkness, dimness of anguish; and they shall be driven to darkness (Isa 8:19-22)
What will happen in your life
when you become involved in the occult
When you go to someone, who has a familiar spirit; wizards, a witch (doctor), medium, charmer, fortune-teller, shaman, a consulter with familiar spirits, a necromancer, you will be defiled; contaminated and unclean.
When you consult and inquire spirits by yourself or with a group of people, you will also be defiled by the kingdom of darkness. A familiar spirit will enter, and take other spirits with him to possess you. Your wisdom may increase, and maybe you will be able to predict the future, through channeling spirits, but your life will be in control of the devil and these evil spirits.
We see in the life of Saul what eventually happened to him when Saul consulted a woman with a familiar spirit and consulted a dead person: he committed suicide (1 Sam 28:7-25; 31:4-5).
We should only consult God and the Word of God and nothing or no one else. We shouldn’t be curious about future events or speak to deceased family members or friends, but lay our lives into the hands of God and trust Him for the future.
Sometimes God will reveal things to you and sometimes He won’t. But if you keep Jesus; the Word, the Center of your life, and make Him your Rock and Refuge, then all things will be well.
The Church a social institution
Over the years, the church has become a social institution, instead of a powerful force of God. There is little or no power anymore. The Church, which is the Body of Christ with Jesus Christ as the Head, should be the most powerful spiritual institution of the world, but what happens nowadays, is that instead of setting people free and deliver them from the oppression of the darkness, many churches direct people to doctors, psychologists, and other wordly institutions.
The church has become a humanistic and social institution, which is built upon the knowledge and the works of man, instead of Jesus Christ; the Living Word and His work.
Beware lest any man spoil you through philosophy and vain deceit, after the tradition of men, after the rudiments of the world, and not after Christ. For in him dwells all the fulness of the Godhead bodily. And ye are complete in him, which is the head of all principality and power: In whom also ye are circumcised with the circumcision made without hands, in putting off the body of the sins of the flesh by the circumcision of Christ: Buried with him in baptism, wherein also ye are risen with him through the faith of the operation of God, who hath raised him from the dead (Col 2:8-12)
The church should repent of its terrible deeds and turn back to Jesus; the Word, and build upon Him. It’s about time, that the church is getting to know its real enemy and start recognizing and acknowledging the spiritual realm, and the spiritual warfare they are in.
It’s about time that they learn about God’s Kingdom, which is a spiritual Kingdom. But the only way that someone can learn about God’s Kingdom and enter the Kingdom is by becoming born again in the spirit, by the power of the Holy Spirit. It’s time to rise up in the Word, to get to know the Word; Jesus. To become a citizen of the Kingdom of Heaven; a son of God, who walks after the Spirit, and not after the flesh, and shall establish the Kingdom of God upon this earth.
How can we as a church establish the Kingdom of God upon this earth? By setting people free from the oppression of the devil and bring the good news of Jesus Christ, which will draw people to repentance.
There are so many people, who are tormented and suffer from the oppression of the devil. They go to medical institutions; doctors, psychologists, psychiatrists etc. but no one is able to help them.
Jesus Christ can set you free
Only the real sons of God can set people free in the Name of Jesus the Christ. I write the ‘real sons’ of God, because some think they’re sons of God, but live just like the world; having the same life as someone, who doesn’t know Jesus and have no relationship with God, through Jesus. They say they do, but they don’t. Because otherwise they wouldn’t do the same works as the world and find ‘solutions’ for their problems in the secular world. I will write more about this, and how the Word of God warns us for ministers of iniquity, in another blog.
Maybe you are a believer and have been consulting spirits, reading horoscopes, or maybe you went to a fortune-teller, medicine man, wizard, witch doctor, etc. and suffer from the oppression of the darkness. Then all you have to do is confess your sin, ask forgiveness to the Lord and command these spirits to leave your body and your soul in the Name of Jesus.
If you’re doubting your authority in Jesus Christ, and are not sure if you have the power to command these spirits to leave, then find someone, who does know his/her authority in Jesus Christ. Find a believer, who can help you, and can set you free from this oppression
The spiritual world is real. Just because the unregenerate man cannot see the spiritual world, will not say, that it doesn’t exist.
You cannot see the wind, but the wind exists, because you see the results of the wind. However, you cannot control the wind via natural means (sources from the secular world (natural world)) that’s impossible.
This is the same thing with evil spirits (demons). You cannot see them, but they do exist. Because you see the result of these spirits. However you cannot control these evil spirits (demons) through natural means; by using natural tools, therapies, theories, methods, medicines (drugs) etc.
Meditate on the Word day and night
Take the Bible; the Word of God, and renew your mind with His words. Meditate on the Word, day and night and let the Word not depart from you. Grow up in the Word, so that you will grow up into the image of Jesus Christ.
If you are an unbeliever, and you have been consulting spirits, and have been a partaker of the occult, and you would like to be set free from the powers of darkness, then go to a church in your area, that is able to set you free in the Name of Jesus Christ.
There is a way out; there is hope, and His Name is Jesus Christ, but it’s up to you to take the first step.
And having spoiled principalities and powers, He made a shew of them openly, triumphing over them in it (Col 2:15)
