The fruit love

In the previous post, the love of God was discussed and how God showed His love for His people. In this blog post I would like to continue, with the fruit love. I would like to discuss the life of Jesus Christ, and how Jesus walked in love, and bore the fruit love. I would also like to show you, what it means for us to walk in love and to bear the fruit love. Because in these days most people give a whole other meaning, to the word love than the Word does. What does the Bible say about love and what does the Bible say about the fruit of love? When do you walk in love?

Jesus walked without sin and iniquity, because He walked according to the will of His FatherJesus walked in His commandments; His Law. Jesus didn’t come to destroy the law, but He came to fulfil the law:

Think not that I am come to destroy the law, or the prophets:I am not come to destroy, but to fulfil (Mat 5:17)

Jesus walked in love

Jesus received the love of His Father, He received the Holy Spirit; He received Gods nature in Him. He couldn’t walk in sin and iniquity, because He walked in love. Jesus had the ability to walk in sin and walk according to the flesh, but He didn’t. Jesus had God’s nature living inside of Him and He obeyed Him, by keeping His commandments.

If Jesus had sinned, He wouldn’t walk in love. Because then He wouldn’t obey God’s first commandment which is, to love God with all of your heart, all of your soul, and all of your mind. He would have turned Himself against God, by becoming disobedient to Him and wouldn’t have walked in Gods will.

Walking in sins and iniquities means: walking and doing, what is against the will of God.

For example: when God says: “love your neighbour as yourself and forgive”, and you walk in hate and unforgiveness, then you sin.

Jesus didn’t walk in a love, which accepted every behaviour and all sins and iniquities, just to have peace with others and get more followers. No, Jesus didn’t come to bring peace, but rather division:

Suppose ye that I am come to give peace on earth? I tell you, Nay; but rather division: For from henceforth there shall be five in one house divided, three against two, and two against three. The father shall be divided against the son, and the son against the father; the mother against the daughter, and the daughter against the mother; the mother in law against her daughter in law, and the daughter in law against her mother in law (Luke 12:51-53)

Jesus didn’t come to bring peace

Jesus didn’t come to bring peace, nor to bring unity, but the mission of Jesus was to take the authority (kingship) from the devil, free man from the oppression of the devil, and reconcile man back to God. By taking the authority from the devil, the devil only became more violent against God and His people. Therefore the spiritual warfare between the Kingdom of God and the kingdom of the darkness (devil), became more intense.

you shall be persecuted and hated because of the Name of JesusJesus knew, that when a person would repent and turn to Jesus, become a new creation and would serve Him, that the person would be persecuted by the world.

Adam was the first son of God on earth, and Jesus came as the second Son on the earth.

Jesus showed us, how to walk as the new creation; born of the Holy Spirit. He set the example and showed us how to walk in the love of God and bear the fruit love.

Jesus His walk of love began, with His great love for His Father. He gave up everything for Him. He gave up His whole life to serve Him, to obey Him, and to please Him in EVERYTHING.

Walking in love

Walking in the fruit love, starts with your love for Jesus, your love for God. When you love Jesus, then you would do everything to please Him, and become fully obedient to Him. When you love Jesus, you shall not  keep walking in sin and iniquity. You shall repent of your sins and become a new creation. You shall start doing, what Jesus commanded you to do:

If ye keep my commandments, ye shall abide in my love; even as I have kept my Father’s commandments, and abide in his love (Joh 15:10)

And hereby we do know that we know him, if we keep his commandments. He that saith, I know him, and keepeth not his commandments, is a liar, and the truth is not in him. But whoso keepeth his word, in him verily is the love of God perfected:hereby know we that we are in him. He that saith he abideth in him ought himself also so to walk, even as he walked (1 Joh 2:3-6)

the two great commandments, If you love Me keep My commandmentsWhen you walk in love, and bear the fruit love you shall fulfil His law (His commandments). Because by the law, God showed what pleases Him. The warnings which are written in the law, came forth out of God’s great love for His people.

He gave them the law, because they were carnal. They didn’t understand the Kingdom of God. They didn’t understand the spiritual world, because they weren’t spirit. Because when Adam and Eve sinned, the spirit in men died.

So the offspring of Adam and Eve, weren’t spiritual people, but carnal people, who lived after the flesh. God gave His law to Moses, not to tie them to the law, but because He wanted to reveal Himself to them. He wanted to reveal and to make the carnal man understand the Kingdom business (the spiritual world). He wanted to make His will known to them, so that He could have a relationship with His people. God revealed everything to them, by the law.

Fulfil the law

Jesus knew this, and that’s why He said that He didn’t come to destroy the law, but to fulfil the law. If Jesus would have said, that He came to destroy the law, then God wouldn’t be the same yesterday, today and forever more. But God is the same, and always will be.

Establish the law through faithIf Jesus would have said, that He came to destroy the law, then He would have turned Himself against God. The same Spirit of God, Who gave the law to Moses, lived in Jesus.

The Holy Spirit reigned in the life of Jesus and because of that Jesus walked in the commandments of His Father.

He kept all the commandments of His Father, and therefore He walked in love.

We have received the Holy Spirit, just like Jesus had received the Holy Spirit. When the Holy Spirit reigns in our lives, we shall also walk according to His will, and shall fulfil the law.

Through faith, we shall establish the law. Not because, we have a paper, with the written law, that tells us, what to do and what not to do. But we shall fulfil the law, because we have received a new nature; His nature has come inside of us. The written law of Moses, which represents the will of God, the law of the Spirit, is now written in our heart. By the indwelling of the Holy Spirit, His whole law is written in our heart and therefore we automatically will keep His commandments and do His will.

I will put my law in their inward parts, and write it in their hearts; and will be their God, and they shall be my people (Jer 31:33)

What do you do, when you love someone?

When you really love someone, then you shall do what pleases that person. You wouldn’t do something that would make that person sad, or hurt that person, or do something that this person dislikes. When you really love Jesus, you wouldn’t do something that would make Him sad. But you shall do those things, which pleases Him. And what pleases Him is to keep His commandments and walk in His will. So that the Father will be exalted.

If Jesus came to make atonement for the sins and iniquities for whole humanity, do you think that He would approve, that you keep walking in sin?

When you keep walking in sin, doing those things which are against the will of God, then you don’t love Him. But it shows, that you love yourself (characteristic of the devil). You have the devil as your father and not God.

Love and iniquity don’t go together

Many times people say: “yes, but Jesus also sat and ate together with sinners.” Yes, that is true, but if you continue reading, you will find out, why He ate with them.

Repentance, call to repentanceMany people just take parts of a Scripture and use them for their own benefit.

When we continue reading, we read first of all that the sinners, were Jews and not gentiles. Secondly, Jesus didn’t sit down and ate with them, to have communion, with their sins and accept their sins. No! Jesus brought them to repentance:

And it came to pass, as Jesus sat at meat in the house, behold, many publicans and sinners came and sat down with him and his disciples. And when the Pharisees saw it, they said unto his disciples, Why eateth your Master with publicans and sinners? But when Jesus heard that, he said unto them, They that be whole need not a physician, but they that are sick. But go ye and learn what that meaneth, I will have mercy, and not sacrifice:for I am not come to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance (Mat 9:10-13)

The righteous do not need to repent, but sinners do.

Wrong interpretation of love?

Love doesn’t mean accepting sins and iniquities. When we bring sinners into the church or congregation, and receive them in ‘love’ and accept and approve their deeds (which goes against the will of God). When we leave them in their sinful state, and let them keep walking in sin, and approve their sins, than we don’t walk in God’s love.

servant of sinWhen the believers walk like Jesus, than the sinners will be confronted, with their sinful state they’re living in. They will be confronted by the Holy Spirit, Who exposes their sin.

They can run away, or they can repent from their sins, and lay down their old life and become a new creation in Jesus Christ.

The person will be discipled in God’s truth, so that they can get the will of the Lord, grow up into the image of Christ, and walk in love.

Love doesn’t mean accepting sins and iniquities, and change the will of God, so that they can satisfy their flesh and their lusts and desires.

When you walk in sin, you will be a servant of sin and not a servant of the Lord Jesus Christ.

Go and sin no more

Jesus gives the ability to repent and be converted to Him. When you repent, He cleanses you from all sin and iniquities. The only thing you have to do is to lay down your life. It means that you should say goodbye to the ‘old you’ and become born again of the Holy Spirit.

How many times did Jesus say “Go, and sin no more”. Jesus never approved sin. He could never approve sin, because sin, means disobedience to God. It means doing those things, which goes against the will of the Father. Jesus loves His Father whole heartedly, He would never do something or approve of something that displeases the Father. Jesus completely submitted Himself to His Father and He kept all of His commandments.

The love of God is so beautifully described in the Kenneth Wuest translation, and I would like to share this with you:

The fruit love is God’s love produced in the heart of the yielded saint by the Holy Spirit, a love that impels one to deny himself for the sake of the loved One (1 Cor 13:1-3)

Are you willing to deny yourself, your lusts, your will, and give up your life for Jesus? Only then wil you be able to walk in love and bear the fruit love.

The fruit love

Maybe you think you walk in love, by doing good works (good deeds) and be friendly towards people. But when you do these things, it doesn’t say that you bear the fruit love of the Spirit. You don’t walk in love, by doing good works, nor by being friendly. The world can be friendly and can do good works, but they are not saved. They don’t have a relationship with the Father.

whoso keeps his word, false loveThe only way to walk in love, is by faith in Jesus Christ and become again in the spirit. If you are born in the spirit by His Holy Seed, you will obey His Word and the Holy Spirit. You will walk after the Spirit, and bear the fruit of the Spirit. The fruit of the Spirit shall become visible in the natural world.

When you become born again and walk after the Spirit, you will bear the fruit love. This love comes forth out of your spirit, and not out of your flesh.

When you bear the fruit of the Spirit, you will walk in love.

This love (from the Holy Spirit) differs from carnal love, because you shall never do anything, that goes against the will of God.

You shall be witnesses of Jesus and you shall submit yourself to Him and become obedient. You shall obey His commandments; you shall do what He says.

Divine love

This means that it’s not about you anymore; it’s not about what you want, or what you think or feel, but it is all about Him; what He wants and what He thinks.

Divine love distinguishes, from worldly love, in that, you do the will of God and walk in His will. You shall turn away from sin and iniquities and sanctify yourself continuously by the blood of Jesus and by the power of the Holy Spirit until you are transformed into the image of Jesus Christ.

You shall love Him above all (including yourself), and because you love Him, and walk in His commandments, you shall bear the fruit love. When you bear the fruit love you shall be able, to love your neighbour as yourself. You shall treat them, the way you want to be treated.
